Ad Buster - The Ad Blocker 4+

So far so good!

So far the best ad blocker I’ve found since my previous favorite changed their algorithm and stopped working in-app. This has been an excellent replacement and is easy to turn off when something is blocked that I actually need to see. Definitely recommended.

DON’T UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got an email from the dev letting me know that there’s a new Ad Buster (paid). No thanks, I was really happy with the old one. HOWEVER, in the app store, there’s a notification that there’s an UPDATE to the old one. I wasn’t going to update, but I decided I was updating the other apps, wth. I made the HORRIBLE mistake of UPDATING the old app. *^%##%^%##% !!! After you update the old one, it looks SO deceptively simple, although there are NO choices to select - you have ONLY ONE CHOICE. You have to click to enable the app. Simple enough, right ?
When you click enable, a pop-up appears (ironic) asking you to “allow/don’t allow” the app to have FULL VPN ACCESS. You, of course, click “don’t allow”. When you click “don’t allow”, the ad blocker is automatically disabled.
Your Ad Buster ad blocker is gone - both the updated one AND the old one you had before that worked just fine, WITHOUT them having full VPN access.
Don’t worry, the new app that the dev made, that they want you to PAY for is, of course, still available in the app store.

The big version 2 update came in and it's now better than ever! Local VPN (no data leaves your device) allows enhanced protection beyond the browser. An update is coming shortly to give the choice of the previous option of browser protection as well. No worries 🙂

Works Quite Well

What I wanted and needed for annoying ads and those embedded ones too in Apps. However, some long WAPO generated ads still come through on their App. But overall it’s the best I’ve found to meet my visual needs.
