Mirror for Samsung TV 4+

Very Simple to Use - Would Recommend

Pros:
Very simple to use, works similar to bluetooth where you just turn it on/off. I have a MacBook Air and it mirrors over to my old (about 6 years old) Samsung TV perfectly. Their support team responded to my inquiries within 24 hours. The app costs $9.99 which is way more cost efficient then having to go buy an adapter of some sort.

Cons:
FYI, Netflix will NOT mirror over if you're streaming via the Safari browser. Their support team advised me the work-around is to stream it via the Chrome or Firefox browsers. So far, I've been able to mirror everything else just fine through Safari, it's just Netflix that I have to use Chrome or Firefox. There is also a little bit of a lag if you're comparing your TV to what you're mirroring, but I suppose that's expected and why would you be watching two different screens anyhow?

Also, if anyone from their support team tells you to pre-record things from Netflix on your device first before mirroring to your TV, please disregard that advice. When streaming from Netflix, it's musch easier to use Crome or Firefox.

Improvement Suggestion to app creator:
Would it be possible to incorporate a "lock screen" feature where we can choose to mirror only what's on that webpage/browser? If possible, it would allow end users to do other things on their device while still mirroring.

Thanks for taking the time to review us and to provide this elaborate information. The feature request is suggested is already available in the app. In the app, you will see an option called 'Source'. Under this option, choose the window you want to mirror (It could be VLC or Chrome browser) and only that window will mirror to TV. This way you could still use your Mac for working. Fantastic at what it's designed to do

Good tool, works great. If you're having trouble connecting, it's either because your TV doesn't support it, or because you're making a mistake on your end. Their support is very good for figuring out what that mistake is. The fact that you can also relegate sharing to a single app is very nice. My only feedback: allow the user to set a specific delay between the laptop and the app to tailor the experience to their connection. Sometimes the app will try to keep the latency between my laptop and the TV TOO low, which my router won't be able to keep up with, which causes the screen to freeze while it buffers; then, a short while after the sharing hsas resumed, it will skip ahead to fix the delay, which isn't really necessary for me as I primarily use this app to watch TV shows and movies. The skipping just proves to be more disruptive than helpful. I don't have this issue very frequently though, so overall I would give this service a hearty recommend.

WOW - Great Support

I have been using Mirror for Samsung for a while and all of a sudden it stopped working. Naturally I contacted support via Facebook and in ess than a day they got back to me.

They had me try all different ways to get it working - yet it would still not work. They did not give up. They asked me if I added any new programs and I told the I added McAfee. They said that this might be the problem so I shut it down. Over a period of two days they had me try different things and still nothing. They then asked me how did I close McAfee and I told them that I just quit the program. They then said that I had to actually tell it to turn off its firewall because just quitting does not work.

Needless to say I congratulated their support staff for asking me the right questions so that they could give me the correct answers. They didn't give up on me, so I will not give up on them.

The only problem that I have with the program is the slight lag between my computer nd the screen. This is not a software problem, butrather a hrdware problem. Perhaps Samsung nd Apple can work together to resolve it.
