Doesn’t remotely live up to the standard of surrounding areas
I thought this was a pretty good service the first few times I used it. Sure, my order was never exactly right, but I was getting delivery from places that don’t otherwise deliver. Then I used the MyTown2Go services in Topeka and Kansas City, and it ruined my experience with Lawrence. This has so few options compared to the other towns; the orders are always wrong in Lawrence, whereas Topeka has gone above and beyond to ensure my order is BETTER than I expect; the Lawrence management has called me multiple times in the past to tell me they canceled my order because I was outside the restaurant’s delivery area - this never happens twice with the same restaurant, and it’s never happened with Topeka or KC. The delivery area in Lawrence is apparently 4 miles, and I can provide maps showing I’m in range of all the restaurants I’ve ordered from. Since they’re different restaurants every time with always the same excuse, I’m left to wonder if they just don’t feel like working that day. I tip exceptionally well and never ask for a refund if I call to say my order is wrong (I rarely call anymore because nothing ever comes of it), so I can’t imagine that I’m being targeted for poor service. There must be many other people disappointed by the mistakes with their orders and the apparent apathy from whoever is employed to answer the phone. These people probably live and work in Lawrence and haven’t had the chance to experience this service in other towns. I will say, to jayhawk2go’s credit, the drivers are all friendly and act like they’re happy to bring you your food. I will always tip them generously for bringing me food I’m too lazy to get for myself. It just seems like the delivery charge, which is not a tip, is unreasonably high for a business that seems to be run poorly and apathetically. I have probably lost over $100 in little things I’ve paid for that haven’t arrived. Tonight I lost $2.50 on sour cream. That’s a ton of money for sour cream to begin with, and it didn’t even make it to me. I didn’t bother calling about it; I’m just going to eat the loss because it’s not worth my time. They’re getting extra money out of me because they’ve lowered my expectations of quality.
