Best Mobile Zoo Game and a money sink!

I’ve tried all the mobile zoo games I could find and they all shared similar flaws: lack of customization, lack of animal/enclosure diversity, and rampant biological inaccuracies. This game gives you complete freedom to shape and customize enclosures and visitor facilities and has many animal species and decorations. It also (mostly) adheres to biological reality - e.g male/female animals often look different and enclosures must be landscaped in ways that match a creatures habitat (though some animals are assigned habitats they don’t actually occupy...looking at you panda and peacock). However, the game is aggressively monetized with many animals only attainable via buying premium currency (crystals) with real money and others attainable during events that are nearly impossible to get without crystals. A small number of premium animals/items is understandable, but this game releases more premium animals than F2P. Also, for how many basic things in game require crystals, they are VERY stingy with opportunities to earn crystals. If you are content to play with a more limited array of options, or have lots of money to drop, you will love this game!!!

Need to many diamonds

Game is fun, has potential.
A lot of progress seems to run on diamonds, which are slow coming. Progress slows down when you don’t buy with real money, I don’t do. You can earn diamonds by watching adds or clips, every 10 - 18 hours for one diamond. Game is geared toward kids, one of the clips was an add for ‘Live PD’ showing a bus crash so I think the clips are just random. Diamonds can be exchanged for coins but it would be more productive the other way around. So much needs diamonds to complete. I’m about to be landlocked because now most land costs diamonds. So I’ll probably end up discontinue playing.
Once you get some what going coins game in pretty good from stands.
Still have to water plants and empty trash even when you hire people for that, which costs diamonds, so I probably won’t continue to keep the ‘staff’.
Animal count isn’t accurate, 1 of 2 when you actually have the 2 of 2 requested.
Breeder house - bred 4 times at 1000 ‘coins’ and still no baby bunnies, ‘unsuccessful’. After 6000 coins I spent 4 of those valuable diamonds to ‘guarantee’ success. Breeding takes a lot of ‘try’s’; and a lot of coin.
It’s interesting people walk around looking for the restroom or a snack. They sometimes are walking back and forth in front of it.
Fun to play, repetitive, you can check in every couple hours, play for 10 - 30 minutes for the cleaning and feeding to be done. I use it to unwind at the end of the day.

Too expensive to play

When I first started this game I was instantly hooked. Great graphics, realistic animals, really fun to play. But as more animals & land expansions became available, the cost for them changed from coins to diamonds. To acquire diamonds you either watch 10 ads for one diamond or a few days a month you get 1 or 5 diamonds or you sometimes get them when you either level up or complete a quest. In other words, it takes a long time (months & months) to collect the number of diamonds you need for certain animals or land expansions, that is unless you pay real money to buy diamonds. I am now at the point in this game that I can’t expand my zoo any more because all available expansions cost diamonds, most of them 100s of diamonds. So I either would have to wait months to collect diamonds or buy them, and I mean buy a lot of them. Sorry. I can’t afford to do that. So, as much as I loved this game just a few weeks ago, now I must abandon it. If you have extra money laying around to spend on this game, you will very much enjoy it. But, if you don’t have hundreds of extra dollars to spend you are setting yourself up for disappointment at some point in this game.
