Sail a sea of words to trade goods, battle pirates, build a fortune, and find the treasure!
In WindWord, you use words instead of wind to sail your ship from one port to the next. You can buy and sell goods at each port to earn money. If you find good (long) words you can sail fast enough to avoid pirates. But if not, you can always battle the pirates to take their gold. Visit all of the ports to upgrade your ship, buy more cannons, and get pieces of an ancient treasure map to win the game.
WindWord is endlessly replayable as each game features a randomly-generated map of the seas with islands, ports and words. Each game is a new adventure. See how fast you can build up your rank, earn money and find the treasure. Advance from "Swabbie" to "Commodore!"
Be sure to read through the bullet-list how-to guide for all sorts of helpful tips and hidden game features!
Made several adjustments for players to get a faster start: New games always start adjacent to a port, prices of trade goods lowered, prices lower near the starting port and higher farther away, prices low at first port, less chance of pirate attack during early moves. For those updating to this version, most of these changes will only take affect after you start a new game.

Deleted my review?
I don’t know why they’re able to do that but it seems it happened. That’s fine since I’m lowering the rating and reviewing again anyway. It’s a nice concept but it’s not fully worked out yet and the combat system is absolutely awful and broken.
I want to love this game (edited)
EDIT: I appreciate the developer’s response and raised my rating from 3 to 4 stars. You have to be quick when looking at the map (it took me a couple of taps before I spotted the missing map piece). The pirates are still annoying. :)
A bit of a learning curve, but that’s okay. The pirates are beyond annoying, I think they distract from playing the game. Perhaps give the option of turning them off? I have 24 of 25 map pieces, where is the last one? How do I find it? This is a part of the learning curve I mentioned, I have sailed the entire map and can’t do anything but buy and sale items, buy cannons to fight boring pirates. I like being able to pray for hints and spell forward and backwards. I’m out of patience looking for the final map piece.
Developer Response ,
If you click on the map status (where it says X/25) and look at the mini map while you are doing it, you'll see the locations of remaining map pieces blink on the mini map.
I’ll admit I found this game really frustrating, because you lose to the pirates and your money really quickly, but once you learn how to make money you can load up on cannons and have a better chance at fighting them. The only thing that is still REALLY frustrating is that your cannons are super weak. All in all I like this game very much!
