Game supports fully operational offline mode (with both classic and rpg flavors) to make you happy while commuting, and you can also setup you local server and connect to it to have faster response while playing with your friends.
And it is even open-sourced under the MIT license.

If you have an issue with the first launch (when app fails to connect to global server) set the device to airplane mode before launch and then press the force offline button at the top right corner.
