Detention is such a good game absolutely worth every second. From start to finish, it pulls you into a world that’s both deeply unsettling and stunningly crafted. Playing this in 2024 and it’s difficult to find a game that keeps you interested, with good jumpscares and all but also leads you down a story without being rushed or anything. This game has much potential, even though it’s 7-8 years old now it still has that spark to it. I absolutely love this game, I got a little emotional throughout 😭 I hope to see more from Red Candle games

The night I finished this game I literally only slept for 3 hours thinking about how good the story is. The mechanics and the translated texts are a little clunky but the visuals and the plot more than make up for it. As a Taiwanese American it also got me to reflect a lot about Taiwanese history and culture. I really can’t wait to watch the movie.

I found the story and folklore of the game difficult to relate to. But that doesn’t warrant a low rating on its own. I actually would give this experience a 5 out of 5 but the overall tone of it turned out to be very bleak. :(I appreciate the creators for putting this together. Fair warning to anyone who may struggle with mental illness, this “game” has a lot of triggers. But there is a fair disclaimer from the creators. “Hope is a good thing, and good things never die.”
