Great Product, but in addition....

Would like to see close ups of the graphs simular in the preview. I know this is just a representation of the menu bar, but it would be nice (and I know it would cost for the upgrade), where you can click on the menu item (like cpu) and it would expans larger to see a little more detail. This would help in cases where a particular application may have a memory leak or a particular tool within the application is pegging out the cpu when used. The blow up may indicate a more precise event/area of interest in solving the issue. I believe that would really make iStat X shine as a serious monitoring tool.

Very useful application

We repair, refurbish, and sell Macs professionally and have used iStats many times to find problems that even Apple Hardware diagnostics did not find. It can be very frustrating to have a problem related to sensors, fans, and temperature, but iStats makes any problems that may exist obvious.

The biggest story we have that sold us on iStats was a couple of MacBook Airs that were identical, but one had incredibly frustrating lagging issues. Everything was set up exactly the same, Apple Hardware Diagnostics said both were just fine, but obviously a 4 second lag (freeze) every 8 seconds in one and not the other meant something was wrong in one. It took detailed analysis with iStats to find out that the problem MacBook Air had a defective temperature sensor in the CPU itself that was causing it to constantly throttle the CPU down and run the fans, even when cold booted.

Absolutely a steal for $2.99!

I had an earlier version of iStats back when OS/X had cat versions and my MacBookPro was 32-bit. Somewhere along the lline aftert I upgraded to a 64-bit iMac and OS/X was going thru California geography, the old versions stopped working. Now, several years later, with COVID-19 running amok & my iMac my primary connection to the rest of humanity, i NEED TO KNOW what's going on under the iMac's covers. I'm DELIGHTED to find this new, enhanced version of iStats now in the Mac App Store. It lives in the menu bar, reads out in color, and details are just an alt-click away! This is a TOTAL STEAL for $2.99. Memory & CPU utilization, network usage up/down, battery status for laptops; all HERE! Thank you, iStat developers!
