I’m reading a lot of the issues I have experienced first hand. (This happened on two Sundays, both after the morning games) the Oregon Lottery Scoreboard app simply logged everyone out. When trying to log back in you would get the message. “Entered wrong credentials” or something. My belief is the system was down. Or was overloaded. Because this was not only happening to me, but some friends who use the app as well at the same time. After about an hour (while your buy back bets hang in the balance**) the app allowed us to log back in. This has happened two Sundays from what I know of. And the app is offline tonight. I only can assume for maintenance.
My advice to the people who run updates or maintenance for a Oregon Lottery Scoreboard, send alerts through twitter or email. To help notify bettors of possible crashes, log-in complications, app updates, site maintenance, or simply when you plan on fixing issues that occur during important sporting events. Adding this service would improve the app greatly from a customer service perspective.
Off-shore sportsbooks send emails regarding site maintenance. Usually scheduled during off hours. This will save some of the frustration and confusion.
But as for tonight the website is down, and the app has log in errors. So I don’t know what’s going on. Would be nice if I could be notified when the app will be up again.
Clunky Even after logging in 15 times a min
Don’t get me wrong, I love the concept but the execution of the app is horrible. The geo location takes place about 10 times before I can even place my bet and half the time the line has changed by time I can actually get it to take my bet. It freezes constantly even though I expected a little of this from a new app but this is worse than I would have thought. Would raise my raiding if I could stay logged in for a few seconds, and this is with WiFi and 5 bars of service. Good luck to anyone close to the boarder... Again great idea...poor execution.
I assume your UAT testers were inexperienced, lazy or just plain didn’t care.
Developer Response ,
We are sorry to hear you are still having a geo check issue. We did make updates to this process, but it seems that not all users are seeing the updates effects. One thing to try is to hard close the app - double tap the home button and swipe the app up to fully close it. If your device allows for apps to run off both cellular and WiFi, and the device is bouncing between the two, this can cause the issue as well. Each time it goes between cellular data and WiFi it sets a new IP address and the geo check is kicked off again to ensure a user is not moving outside the approved area. If these don't help, a last resort, which we hate to ask users to do, is to uninstall and reinstall the app to make sure you have all the latest updates. We hope you will give us another shot. Thank you for the feedback!
Having bet on sports for a long time using off shore methods left me optimistic for sports betting in Oregon. The app is new and has quite a few glitches and needs improvements. When the app works it is great. When the app is loading, it is very inconsistent. It always has issues checking location or quickly pulling up lines. I typically have to close the app three times and log back in. Very tiresome. App could be optimized to check location once at time of bet and eliminate the constant checking. It checks location way to frequently and could be fixed or it could
Just be set to check location while using the app and not need 5 checks of where I am at. It also has issue logging in the individual. Other platforms I use don’t have these issues as often. These improvements could get you back into the game quicker.
