Great game, but too challenging?

I love rogue lite games and this gem just jumped right into my top 5 after only a few runs. It’s fresh and very well polished to start. It incorporates some of the staple qualities of survival games, which really does add a fun twist on the rogue genre. Sleeping, plenty foods and water. It has an overwhelming selection of blueprints. Plus crafting, and you actually have to find the materials by harvesting or gathering. The environments are full and well done, the overall art direction of the game is pleasing. My 1 and only quarrel with this game…… it’s just too hard lol. I’ve played it for a few months, on and off, maybe a year now and it just seems like the difficulty curve is a little more than a little too hard. I think there’s a lot of content that me and most other people won’t ever experience. The game is actually so fun for me that I keep playing the first few areas even though I know there’s about a 90% chance I won’t make it past my best run.

Pay to Win

This is a really great game, I actually enjoy every time I play it. However, it’s become very clear that there is no way to progress in this game without paying money. I have had the game for about a month, and this entire time have not been able to get to day 30 (which is a big point of the game). I will save up enough tokens to earn another life if I die, but won’t be able to use the tokens so that the only way to continue is to purchase tokens. It’s frustrating that with so much effort I have only been able to get to 28 days, and have only been able to do so once. After so many times playing, it’s clear that there is a distinct moment in the game, where no matter how good or bad the round is going, that you will be swarmed by monsters and it is a guarantee that you will be killed. I tested this over 100 times because I thought I was just being a sore loser, but it does take away some of the novelty in playing the game when you realize it is impossible to progress. The game is very well made and extremely fun, which is why I keep playing despite knowing without a doubt that I will die at the same stage of the game every single time, but it would be great if we were actually able to use the few free rewards that we are able to get. I might feel more compelled to spend money in the game if I was able to see past the same three stages.

Excellent and challenging survival game!

This has been a refreshing find after all the P2W survival games out there. I figured after dying a couple times and restarting I’d get tired of it but each time I restart I get a new world to try and figure out how to prolong my next life in. I can tell a lot of passion is behind this with all the attention to detail incorporated—the temperature system, stealth including the enemies being curious vs alerted, the ungodly amount of crafting options, the traps and being able to identify them—I could go on but you get it, these guys care about the *quality* of their game. Only suggestions I’d have are some nitpicks like QoL stuff (can we have the option to double tap items to transfer them between inventory and storage?) I really wish this game were more popular because we need more quality survival games like this!
