Student Driving Logger 4+

Works great!

This app has all the features needed to log all of my teen’s driving hours. I would give anything to have this as a state approved app. As it is, I use this as a backup, because the state approved one is complete garbage. This great app constantly reminds me how terrible the other app is. The one complaint I have is that I wish this would automatically log the drive as nighttime. But otherwise, it has every feature like a pause button for waiting between drives without starting a brand new drive. It has the features needed to log weather, time, notes and distance. And for just a dollar, I never have to look at ads, like I have to on the horrible other app! This one is superior in every way. Thank you!

Worst App EVER

This app consistently kicks me out while we’re in the middle of our drive and then deletes whatever info it has recorded up to the point where it randomly kicks me out. The first couple times it happened I thought maybe it was just a fluke. This has happened probably 12 to 15 times now, and I officially hate this app! I have the newest iPhone available so I know it isn’t that I have an old phone that can’t support whatever this app needs. My husband has the same app for our son and it consistently kicks him out as well. I have to manually go in and log his drives, which means the GPS won’t be a part of the record and I’m recording what I think he’s driven and not his exact drive. Lastly, if they’re going to put work into this and improve it then another thing they could fix would be merging multiple accounts. Since my husband and I are using the same app for the same child it would be nice if our information would transfer so we didn’t have two independent driving logs to keep up with. I think having an app to log the driving record of your child with a drivers permit is an amazing idea, but this app has a long way to go before it’s helpful.

Sorry that you had to face this issue, but it is now resolved in the latest update. You can now track your drives even when your phone is in the background (just make sure to set Always Allow Location in app settings). As for your suggestion, we do plan to implement an optional log in system where you can connect accounts, etc... in the future. Great app

I’m using this app to track my son’s driving progress. I really like the ease and intuitive design. GPS tracking on the drives is a nice feature. My only critique is that it regularly crashes when I hit save. I then have to input the drive details and lose the GPS track. I’m guessing it just needs an update. Of the driving apps out there used to track driving, this one is great and is doing what I need it to. With the bug issue fixed, I give it 5 stars.

Update: bug issue fixed. The developers even sent me two emails about it. Super.
