Just what I was looking for!

SimplyWise is an amazing app that helps you manage your expenses in the most effortless way possible. Scans are not processing correctly

I saw this app advertised a month or two back and I was curious to try it out against Evernote or Expensify. I initially like the scan feature and it’s ability to cut and make make clean copies of the receipts or documents I was scanning. However after a few times I started to notice inconsistencies and errors. Several of my scanned documents were scanning blurry, and automatically coming up with the wrong business name, date, etc. A scan for let’s say Starbucks Coffee would display as “spectrum” with a bogus date. So I found myself having to manually adjust the error. Additionally the scans were coming out blurry for documents or not always auto cropping on large receipts. Additionally the app doesn’t appear to save this info to the cloud so I’m concerned my info won’t back up and be saved if I lose my phone. Additionally it would be nice to have a way to sun group receipts or categories based on store/practitioner/topic/etc. rather than by year. I also find that the document size for scanning is difficult to collect when trying to take photos. The emailing of receipts and not stop email confirmations and having to manually enter in the info for the receipts is also annoying. Apple app receipts were not scanning as the vendor and only appearing as apple. Super annoying.

Otherwise I like the app and hope they can make some improvements to make this more function-able.

App is great, pricing scheme not so much

So far I've done the week trial and have enjoyed the app and how it mostly works. I think I've only had one receipt that didn't populate the info but I think that was because it was an old and faded one. The email function has worked decently as well, just have to remember to get the right email.

The few things that I didn't like, and the reason why I'm only giving it 4 stars are: 1) the app doesn't seem to always save the settings. I think I've gone through the "set up account" thing like 4 times and it's still coming up. 2) the pricing scheme. In the app there's two choices, base and business. Simple enough, right? Well you'd think so but if you look in your subscriptions or even in the app on the app store, there's at least 8 different options, with no explanation about what they do. If they're old options, they probably shouldn't be shown let alone be able to pick them.

Other than that, the app is great.

To be transparent, those other prices are these other prices on the list are a "relic" of our old pricing models, which we have "grandfathered" our early users into. Unfortunately, Apple makes it difficult for us developers to remove those other tiers easily.

Love this App!!

I can't believe how well the scanning feature works. Every single receipt I've scanned has imported the merchant and date correctly. Only twice have I had to make a minor modification to the dollar amount, and this was likely to a wrinkled receipt. I'm in awe of how well the OCR works - which makes this app a pleasure to use. It's also easy to change the category of a filed receipt at a later date. The export option is well worth the price as you have an option to export date ranges with or without receipt images. Lovely. ----Only suggestions would be an option to import or download into the iOS Files app and import directly into iOS Numbers vs email link. Also adding more icon options would be useful. Specifically more types of buildings and folder colors/designs. I very very rarely write reviews. This is a Great app!!

Best app & customer service

This app is the best app I have found for receipts! It has great customer service and I love the fact that you pay what’s fair. I’m going through tough times and this allowed me to still do what I needed without spending a ton of money. I asked the customer service team if they could add multi page receipts, and they out of the feature very quickly within a week or so. They asked questions and were very respectful. I’ve seen a lot of growth in the app meaning constant development which I love. The app is easy to use. I like that they are working on features and are willing to put this in the FAQ. That they give you work around if it’s something they don’t currently have. I suggest this to all my friends and family. Thank you all so much for your wonderful app and your friendly customer service.

Where have you been all my life?

I’m going to sound dramatic but this is true… I’ve been looking for an app like this for SO long! I’ve tried so many other apps but they didn’t have the features I needed. I resigned myself to buying a receipt scanner, which is not cheap, and even that didn’t work as well as this little app does. I have to admit that I cringed at the yearly fee but I got to test it out for free for one week and saw how well it works. The fee boils down to about $2/mo AND allows me to get rid of receipt clutter and organize my receipts (and other documents like prescriptions, etc) digitally. It looks like the app creators are pretty responsive as well, if I ever have any issues. I can’t ask for anything more (well, “free” would be nice, but what can ya do?)

Be Wise Get SimplyWise!

I do bookkeeping, business management, and prepare taxes I’m recommending that all my clients get the SimplyWise app. It scans in your receipts and keeps an itemized list of your purchases. Easy to create a series of folders for specific businesses. The superior export to spreadsheet function allows sorting and categorizing all expenses on a monthly and weekly basis.

My clients will have more accurate information about net income on an ongoing basis. This will enable them to know their cash flow so they have the capacity to take advantage of investment opportunities with confidence.

Extra benefit no boxes or bags of paper to find and sort at tax time! Purchases are categorized and filed at the time of purchase. A win for everyone.

Love the features, but the dollar amount on individual items keeps turning up way wrong

I thought this app was so cool, especially because you could select individual items within receipts and move them to different folders or categories. For example if I bought home goods and personal items, I could select the personal items to go in that folder and the home goods to go in a separate folder. That is amazing. However, the whole concept is ruined because the scanner doesn’t input the amounts of those items correctly. The amount as a whole is correct but it kept getting WAY off when it came to each item within a receipt. Deleted my subscription right away. If they can fix that issue within the app it would be well worth the 24 dollars a year

eReceipts are not working

Need help with the e receipts every time I forward the email it doesn’t work. I went to the app support link on the App Store and it leads me to a web version of the app. No help at all. I think the e receipts should have better instructions in the beginning. It’s very confusing. And I’m begging for the setting to be able to turn off the additional emails I get after I forward an email receipt. It’s way too much clutter. Also would love some folder icons more inclusive to women. Like a cosmetics one and for clothes maybe some dresses instead of a men’s work shirt. Would also be nice to have different colors in each for different family members. But mostly I just want eReceipts to work again. I’m on the seven day trial right now and the fact that I’m already having issues is extremely disheartening because I was very excited.

Absolutely The BEST receipt Keeper

What an outstanding app. I’ve tried a few others whose name I won’t mention that have left me dazed and confused. This app scans your receipts no matter how torn, wrinkled or messed up they are flawlessly and once taught where each item goes does it flawlessly and efficiently. I am able to scan all my receipts from shopping to dining to travel to whatever and bingo! Correctly scanned and placed in the correct finder. I live the running balance of my spending as well as the awesome reports it issues. For a few extra bucks you can even have it linked to your QuickBooks where it flawlessly integrates your receipts. Keep up the great work!!
