Good, not great
This is a great mindless game - once you get the strategies down for the 5 or 6 maps, you won’t lose. I have played this game 1000s of time and am sad to say that the rankings aren’t real, which you may notice based on how you go up with each one. The game will freeze your ranking at #11 and you can see the names of the top 10 are randomized every time you log in. The basic gameplay and the boosters are great (really like the new boosters just added). However, the tournament and base building aren’t really thought out. Tournament puts you in the same map with the same randomized computer AI players where the ranking is meaningless. You can build your castle to the max in like 50 or 100 rounds, then you are hoarding coins for no apparent reason. Overall, I like the base game, but the other features seem to be haphazardly thrown in with no real thought process behind them. Also, the game crashes at least once a day which is annoying.
I played 200 levels HONEST
This game is pretty addictive especially once you master how to win, regardless of where you spawn in. My problem is that it’s impossible to get ranked in the top 10,000. Also, there is no benefit to earning tokens are your one castle is built. The AI chases blocks regardless of if it kills them. Start every game back going to the other side and gathering as many blocks as you can. It’s not about who gets big fast. It’s who get the biggest period. I won 100 games in a row. The same 4 levels play in repeat. There are no new levels. I eventually got bored and deleted it.
Ads on ads
I don’t know what the other reviews are about… the game isn’t optimized so you end up lagging mid game (I’ll explain why). The mechanics are clunky but the premise is absolutely there.
The problem is that within the first two minutes of the game I clicked on one ad but was forced to watch two more. Post level multiplier on currency is fine whatever. However right after watching the multiplier I was forced to watch another ad before a level transition. Then after collecting approximately 20 of the planks on the ground the game then forced me to watch another ad… mid match with other players. To address the lag earlier, I know exactly when ads were being forced as the game basically goes from 60fps to 2-5fps when the ad engine kicks in. This game needs a lot of work and a lot less ads.
Again premise is absolutely cool. Execution is not.
