Force Close Problems

I am using a Macbook Pro Retina display with an Intel Core i7 processor, running OS X Yosemite, and tethering to a Nikon D90 camera. We use it to for product photography and it is very helpful, when it works. It allows you to choose what folder you would like the images to be stored in as you take the pictures and the display is perfect for what we use it for. However, sometimes it will not connect with the camera, but lately the problem is that Sofortbild will close as soon as I snap the first picture and will not allow me to use it at all. Is there other troubleshooting I need to do in order to fix this besides restart it, completely shut down in safe mode, and restarting the application?

Good Basic Program

This is a good program for tethered capture. FInd my camera (Nikon D750) and can control it with ease. One tad annoying issue is it seemingly loses the connection randomly then reconnects during shooting. I am using one of the orange cables from Tethertools to connect to my iMac.
One big suggestion I'd have is to have the photos auto-rotate (portrait/landscape) when they appear on the computer screen in the app. I'd give it 3.5 stars. Overall I'd recommend it.

Runs well in a Virtual Machine

While this app is not working in El Capitan, it does run well in a virtual machine of an earlier OS, running inside El Capitan. I have VMware Fusion 8.1 with a Mountain Lion OS on a current MacBook Air - also gave it a successful try with Yosemite vm. One thing to keep in mind is to set the vm to use USB 2.0 (not 3.0) so it can connect with the camera. Problem solved and your main OS can be kept current. Sofortbild is just too wonderful to live without. I fire the camera with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (Command-r) as I walk around the studio set-up, adjusting the subject and lighting without unneccasary trips back to the tripod.
