ONE-CLICK ORGANIZATION

A single click swiftly tidies up cluttered files, relocating them into categorized subfolders—be it Pictures, Music, Spreadsheets, or Source Code. Impressive all round

Long story short, I'm a developer and this is the last app I ever would have expected to purchase. I've done my own moving and sorting for years using the command line, (find, rsync, etc..). Because of the amount of folders I have that each have different criteria, maintenance has started taking more time than it's worth to do this properly, and make one tired mistake with a regex, or forget to escape something, and there's a morning worth of repairing to do. This app not only does exactly what I expected it to do, but it does so surprisingly quickly. I have great re-assurance that the macOS native search filters are used to construct queries, and judging by the performance and instant updating inside the Finder - native copy functions too. When you move half a million files with confidence with the click of a button, that is worth the cost of this app.

Easy and quick way to organize a 1000's of files

I've been using Tidy Folder for a couple of years now, and I am always impressed by how well it can turn a disk or folder with tens of thousands of unorganized files, folders and subfolders into a well-organized, easy-to-use layout.

For example, I have a downloads folder where I put not only items I've downloaded but also pictures and other files that are temporary, drafts or items that I haven't or don't want to move to a permanent location. This folder has grown to over 45,000 items (don't judge me). Tidy Folder organized everything within minutes.

Tidy Folder uses a set of rules to guide how it organizes your folder. The default rules do a great job of managing without breaking things and should work for most situations. Rules turn on or off with a click, and new ones can be created using the decent rule editor. The ability to customize the process can sometimes lead to unintended results. That big 45k folder took several tries to organize it just how I wanted it. Fortunately, after Tidy Folder has run, it displays a dialog box with options to Undo Tidy, Quit and New Tidy. The Undo is quick and makes it easy to undo the last tidied folder. Once undone, adjust the rules and try again.

Overall, Tidy Folder is a great little utility.

I LOVE THIS APP!!!

I needed to organize the mess that was my Documents folder on my MacBook Air, and this program did it in less than 20 seconds (17 seconds precisely). I love this app. I needed this years ago. Saves so much disk space, and makes it easy to find your files afterwards. I love how organized everything is. I thought I had a good system before, but with iCloud things sync strangely all the time causing all kinds of weird duplicates and redundant folders. This app fixed all that super fast.
