A fabulous start

OK, this app really costs $4.99 but you get to try it out for 60s for a video to make sure you're happy. I think it's worth the money already but not everything works as expected. The first thing you will notice is that there's a set of white pixels that track your gaze that are annoyingly in the midst of the screen. If you pin the controls to the bottom of the environment, you'll see that it was the visible top surface of the 'glass' on which the menus are projected. If you pin the controls then you don't have to worry about the distraction any more. I converted my BD3D to Spatial video and this player works!! Full quality 3D playback from local files. I'm not certain the 5.1 AAC soundtrack is working correctly though? Unfortunately the spatial video does not play properly from Plex and it doesn't even play the 2D version - just a black screen. Perhaps we can get SMB support to play back spatial video over the net so I don't have to store the video on the headset. The flexibility of the screen layout is great and the ability to require long taps and hiding your hands is also really appreciated in a video player. No more accidental pausing. This will be 5 stars if Spatial Video over network can be made to work.

Really great concept and has potential!

Love the idea of this app and when you feed it videos that visionOS works with natively it does what it says and love the execution - great options for showing/hiding hands - and LOVE the infinite adjustability of where videos can be - sadly the conversion feature where it’ll convert videos not supported by visionOS has just failed for me - tried to play some MKVs sourced from a BluRay and the conversion I think failed during the conversion and the videos showed up in my list but when I go to play them it just refuses to play.

I would also love an option that lets you play videos in a non-fully immersive way and just present it as a standard floating window that you can resize as normal. It is nice to have both options so you can use the app even if you don’t want to be in that immersive mode. Keep up the great work! This app has true potential and hope the conversion aspect can improve because it is something this platform needs!

Paid app has less codecs than free apps

this app cost 4.99 but a lot of mp4 files don’t work at all some do more misses than hits but the free apps have zero problems playing mp4 files
