Good game 👍🏻
Pretty good game. I read other reviews and want to point out a few things... yes, there are a few slide puzzles. I didn't have to use my camera any where (guess they changed it) and it does seem the makers left it open for another game. The graphics are really great, and they put a map you can use to travel easier from one area to another is really nice. I thought the music nicely enhances the game for setting a certain tone while playing. It will take a little while to finish (if you don't get any help) and for the price thought it was very well done and worth it to buy. Wish they had the next one in the store......
Ravin’ bout how this game rocks
I really liked this game. For me it somehow had a big realm atmosphere for such a relatively small game, perhaps due to nice music, a smattering of decent sound effects, smooth 3D travel, a quick travel map, great graphics, and a good dose of subtle humor in many of the descriptions (kinda reminded me of some old text adventures). I found the puzzles to be well varied, pretty logical, and mostly intuitive. A couple extra slider puzzles, yes, but didn’t mind them til I got to the end. Honestly, that one was about as much fun as putting together a jigsaw puzzle with the same picture on both sides. Other than that, only got stumped a couple times, but pushed through without the hints and felt pretty satisfied when I finished, except for the lack of closure with the end story. No matter; after all, I wasn’t reading a novel, just playing a short, entertaining puzzle game, and I’m glad I did.
Entertaining for puzzle lovers
If you have an itch for a puzzle adventure game, this will scratch it although you'll not come away amazed.
The graphics, sounds and controls are very well-done. They're actually what kept me immersed in the game I think.
However, the adventure and story are purely backdrops for puzzles...so don't go into this with high expectations or thinking you'll solve the ultimate secret of Raven Rock. The story does not get resolved. Maybe a sequel was planned or underway?
And I would have to agree with one reviewer: way too many picture puzzles. These are never interesting and they do get tedious in this game. I especially didn't like that one was the last puzzle to solve. Going through the tedium for something so anticlimactic was a little annoying.
In summary, I was entertained and even enjoyed playing. I'd given it two more stars if there were less picture puzzles and if the story itself was the driver of the game, not the puzzles.
