During COVID19

I bought this as a gift for my niece. She is a vodka/Tequila/whiskey kinda gal. I am sure you can probably buy these in liquor stores but, the point is, it’s a gift and she can order what she likes when she wants to. Without having to go to store during pandemic. I am happy. My order did somehow get delivered to wrong address in Portland, She lives in Albany. (Unfortunately that was the delivery company’s fault not flaviar)But when I messaged Flaviar on a holiday weekend mind you, they tracked down the package and the package was received the following Tuesday. With I might add a $5.00 credit for next order. I’m happy with what I have paid for. Yes seems crazy to pay for a subscription and then pay for the liquor on top of that but people do it everyday with Costco memberships. Just because you paid for the membership doesn’t mean you get the food for free.

App needs work

The app doesn’t sync properly with the web so your information is never correct. It doesn’t seem to list all of the available tasting boxes for purchase. The bottles and tasting boxes you order can come from anywhere and can take weeks to arrive. The prices tend to be higher compared to a local store. Customer service is friendly but I agree with others it’s slow. The vault does have some more rare bottles for sale but when it’s open even those bottles are priced high compared to the average cost. That’s assuming you can find what they are offering. At this point I plan on keeping my membership because the tasting boxes are great for testing without having to commit to an entire bottle of just one item. They also offer short lessons on different spirits explaining the history and how they are made. The club isn’t all that old so I am curious what it will be in the future.

Great service so far, app is confusing

The app is way too much form over function. Can’t navigate back from anything, and it took me forever to figure out that your initial order was done in a different place than where you browse everything else (ended up ordering one extra sample on accident, which kind of is fine but kinda pisses me off because I didn’t realize this was separate from what I was supposed to get as part of the order). This confusion is all on them.

That said the service seems interesting and I’m interested to get my first orders.
