This app along with the hardware has worked intermittently for about three years. It usually took me at least a minute just to adjust my spa temperature. First the app crashes, then you open it again. Then it reconnects… Then you get an error that it’s not connected. Then you click retry. And then you have to shut down the app and reopen it. And now since the latest update it takes me about 3-4 minutes to adjust the temperature up or down on my spa. You have to press the big temperature button in the middle of the app and then frantically try to swipe up or down on a slider on the left before the slider disappears to control the temperature. Literally need to do this about 100 times to get the temperature up to 95 or back down to the lowest setting at 52. And it’s not a connectivity issue… The lights and the jets work perfectly every time from the app when it’s not crashed… it’s now just the temperature control function in the app when it does manage to work. Somehow it’s actually getting worse. And it was terrible to begin with.I made the mistake of putting the top side controller in another room with the spa equipment because I figured I could just control the spa from the app. Don’t make that mistake.

For the past five days, I’ve been trying to reset my password at least 25 times. No email was sent allowing me to reset my password. I’ve called customer service and left voicemails at least a dozen times. No reply. Gecko Alliance is nonexistent. It’s my opinion that Bullfrog Spas teamed up with the worst company in history. I’m a third generation of a family home business with over 100 employees and today we are over 100 years old. You don’t get to be 100 years old by doing a poor job if I was a CEO of Bullfrog Spas in Utah I would fire Gecko Alliance. I have to tap a star for a reading, but if I could, I’d give him a zero for customer service what a bunch of flunkies.

I’ve been using the app for over a week without any issues.Indoor unit is hard connected (Ethernet cable)to my router. Outdoor unit is mounted at the top outside corner of the spa. Although it’s outdoors, it’s only about 10 feet away and through one exterior wall from the indoor unit. Connectivity is consistent and I have not noticed any issues.I like being able to control the filtering times, temperature and pump switching from my phone from almost anywhere.The reminders for cleaning, water changes, etc. are nice but you can’t modify the dates. They only count down from preset durations. Installation was quick and easy for me.

I’ve had zero issues with this product since installing. It was easy to configure with my Aquaterra spa after opening up the side panel and plugging into a port on the controller board. I left the unit inside the spa cover and did not mount externally and it’s working great. The key is good WiFi. I have a mesh system and my spa happens to be very close to one of the mesh routers, although it is on the other side of a stucco wall. The app itself is not very intuitive, I wish they would make a mode that would force the hot tub to not come on at all for the times scheduled, 4-9pm for our utility company charging the highest rates. The economy mode does prevent the heater from coming on which is nice but the pump will still run on occasion during those scheduled hours. I’m still giving this 5 stars, I’ve turned my hot tub up while experiencing back pain at Costco and it was ready to use when I got home at the temp I set it to!
