Description

IO Ninja is a professional all-in-one terminal emulator, sniffer, and protocol analyzer.

IO Ninja is highly modular and has plugins for most transports and protocols you might сome across — network (TCP, UDP, SSL, SSH, WebSockets, etc.), serial (UART, I2C, SPI, Modbus, etc.), and others (USB, Pipes, J-Link RTT, etc.).

IO Ninja shines at binary data display and transmission. Our patented logging engine can handle multi-gigabyte logs with ease. It is beautiful, lightning-fast, and can represent binary data alongside informational messages (events, warnings, errors), thus forming a clear timeline of IO events.

IO Ninja is scriptable and allows you to generate packets programmatically, react to incoming packets and other IO events, and create non-standard protocol analyzers.

IO Ninja is your debugger for any IO-related task and a must-have tool for network security experts, system administrators, and all developers who deal with network programming in their line of work.

What’s New

Version 5.5.0

New fast regex markup engine (based on the heavily modified Google RE2 library); new built-in Jancy type `string_t` (non-zero-terminated UTF-8 string slice) now used for strings in all scripts; 100% correct display of UTF-8 multi-byte code points, continuation bytes, unprintable chars, and incomplete sequences (also across line and page boundaries); new implementation of bin-text in log with accurate line wraps in the middle of UTF-8 invalid multi-byte sequences and with optional CR/LF/Tab visibility; multiple critical bug fixes.

Developer Response ,

The issue with occasional crashes during in-app purchases (in AppStore builds of IO Ninja, the evaluation is a free in-app purchase) is fixed in v5.3.1.

Great first impression

I've barely scratched the surface of this tool, but so far it does everything I would want if I was writing a terminal emulator for myself: absolute or relative timestamps, direct interactive vs "line oriented" interface, cumulative session stats... I did not experience a crash during eval setup. I look forward to using this as part of my regular arsenal.
