Beyond Worthless

I bought the iRed transmitter before downloading the app. What I didn’t expect: 1 For it to take over a month for the device to arrive. 2. For the app to take over 20 attempts to download (not sure if app store had any fault in that). 3. The transmitter needs to be less than 5 feet away from the device you are trying to control (at that point, there IS NO POINT). 4. The customer service of this company is terrible. They couldn’t properly provide tracking numbers for shipments, and response time was awful. I NEVER take the time to review products, but this is fair warning to anyone…Couldn’t be a worse investment PERIOD.

STOP!!!! Do not by any thing from this company. Speed the word this is a scam. This app is crap. The hardware is crap. Never worked. You can't even get support. I tried this equipment and app with six different brands of tv. Two types of satellite tvs. Two different types of receivers even an old VCR. NOTHING worked. I've had an iPhone sense day one and only written three reviews. Have bought many, many apps along with lots of products to work with my phone. This was the worse purchase. I finally went to Walmart and got a twelve dollar universal remote.

I was never able to try the software because I never received the required iRed Transmitter nor any communication from this company, although they immediately took payment for the order. Once I filed a dispute with PayPal, the company finally began claiming that the item had been sent, but the tracking information they provided was invald and my purchase was eventually refunded by PayPal. Since then, the company's web portal's have either disappeared or are inactive. Not cool, Oliver.

It's rare when I review but here we go...What would anyone, let alone a corporation, want to produce such a worthless application? I understand this may be a rhetorical question, but really?What went "rong" here? Is it bad management? A lack of training? Maybe this is a first attempt at it. If so that could be the only way I would assign a good grade, if only for the effort. Then I might ask, what did they learn?I just told you what I have learned about it. I can only hope this app, as any conceptualization, might get better. Please keep trying.
