KWCH 12 New‪s‬ 12+

I do find the ads annoying especially the full page ones that pop up when you first open the app. That said it is a free app and they have to sell ads to provide the app and its content. But what really is frustrating is how stale and dated much of the content is. The first story is usually “news” but after that the content is dated...some of it days old and not even very “newsy” to start with. Sometimes even the weather forecast is for the previous day or night. Come on Ch 12! If you want to keep selling ads you need me to be opening your app....give me a reason to do so!!!

I can live with the ads but this app has a lot of issues. I primarily use this for weather which isn’t always accurate; sometimes still lists the temp as being the same for several hours, the radar lags or sometimes will show clear skies over the entire state during the middle of a storm. The topic icons are often wrong, I click on news and end up viewing where’s Shane or find the channel 12 car. I’m a regular watcher and am constantly annoyed and disappointed that the anchors are constantly pitching their less than stellar app. And less to do with the app and more employees, typos are everywhere! It’s like they use speech to text but don’t proofread anything, it’s worse than if my 12 year old were typing up the stories.

My favorite news station so of course I have the app! I use the app for push notifications more than anything. The weather is excellent! I had to turn off the news which means I feel out of the loop going to find something else. If you live in Wichita it’s probably great but being in western Kansas I don’t care there is a traffic situation on Kellogg, and I don’t need to know about ever shooting, that is why I don’t live there!

So I wish there was a way since this is a regional news station to pick what push notifications you get.
