Excellent for Stock management
This is a great app for stock management.
The only thing I would change would be adding the option to add species as well as the ability to flag all of a specific category of stock and move their designated pasture at once.
I rotate pasture and when I do, I move the entire herd. The way it’s currently set I have to change each individual animal setting. That can be time consuming with several hundred head.
Currently I raise several different types of stock however there seems to only be a set of specific animals available to select.
Overall, very pleased!!!

There are two ways to perform bulk movements:
First, from the dashboard, click on the action button against the pasture name and select 'Move Mob'.
Second, from the dashboard, push and hold the 'Events' button and then select 'Moved'. When you create an event this way you can use the animal searcher to select the specific animals you want to move. Also take a look at the 'Search Class' option in the animal filter, you may find that will help select the groups you're after.
As mentioned, we don't have a way for users to create species but if you email us at email@example.com we can add the request to the list.
Feeling it out
I really want to like this app. Enjoyed the color tag option as our farm is made of several herds owned by different family members and a close neighbor. The problem is, I don’t know how the birthing and rotation portions work as you can’t explore them, even for a trial period.
A demo with a few “fake” cows would be great to feel-out the paid app features before shelling out the cash. Until then, I’m still shopping.

Livestocked is a pedigree, so to record a birth, you just need to create a new animal. If you specify a dam and or sire the system will handle all the links for you.
Birthflow is a faster way to record multiple datapoints at once, for example, you may be recording twins or looking to add a weight and live status at the time of recording.
With rotations, this is usually a 3 click process where you move the mob from one pasture to another however you can also use the animal searcher to be more specific when splitting mobs.
Basically, you can record everything on the free plan and we add several productivity tools on top for folks who upgrade.
We do provide free trials on request, you just need to submit a support request from within the app and it will usually be processed within an hour or two.
Not useful for poultry or small animal farms
Poultry species limited to chickens. Many farmers also raise ducks, turkeys, geese and guinea fowl. Basically makes the app useless for us.
No species support for rabbits- problematic for farms like ours that raise meat rabbits.
For fowl, individuals are neither names nor tagged. We have multiple flocks that range from a dozen to 40 birds each. Per bird entries are not useful. I need to name a flock, indicate number of females and, if present in the flock, males. Far too time consuming to create entries per bird when well never be able to tie a given animal back to a record in the app.
Would be very helpful to have a varieties check list where the master list by species is maintained by the farmer. Different varieties have very different growth rates and laying patterns. So it matters if a flock has a particular variety of layer or meat bird.
Same for rabbits, although unlike fowl, breeders are named or numbered; and offspring generally are coded in some way to ID which parents produce the best offspring for meat quality and quantity.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
