Better than other insurance Apps I have used. Very easy to set up and use! Only complaint I have is the “hits” you get for speeding are a bit unrealistic at times. I am agreeable to the speed window you get so you can safely keep up with traffic and when you are driving local you should know your speed limits. But when traveling or driving distances in unfamiliar territory there is no grace for speed limit changes. Sometimes the signs are not easy to see or you might be dealing with a more important safety issue, lane changing, or map directions and miss the speed change. If it is 5mph it’s not a big deal, but when it drops 10 mph then you get jammed real quick! I think there should be a little grace distance given to adjust speed or catch the change before getting a “hit” or demerit on your drive score.

It’s incredibly inconsistent. It’s like freaking school. 4 stars will drop your score drastically, but if you get 5, 5 star drives it will barely ease your score. Not only that, but on iOS I can’t change a drive from driver to passenger while the vehicle is moving, I can only change it after it’s scored, which causes my score to go down and not come back up EVEN AFTER I said that I was a passenger. It’s freaking ridiculous. The app lowered my score for “sharp cornering” when I had to go over 17 mph to get out of everyone’s way at a wide intersection. It lowered my score for phone use when the phone barely moved an inch, then a lady called and said that ANY MOVEMENT is phone use?! I got this app to help lower the cost of the insurance by driving safely. But even when I do drive safely the score still goes down. Instead of saving money (which you’re really not saving money by much) someone else is dictating how I drive by expecting me to be a robot when I’m not. I hard break when another person in front has break checked me, and my score lowered. I “used my phone” when it barely moved an inch. I “sharp turned” at a wide intersection to get out of the way of traffic. Learn to take in account the freaking environment and situation of the drive.

Do not get this app. They promise you will get 5 to 10% off just to try it and then you can keep the discount even if you decide not to continue using it. NOT TRUE. Then they ding you for small things like hard breaking. Everyone needs to hard brake every once an awhile for legitimate things like a person or bike steps in front of you; an animal or bird in the road; or a light suddenly turns yellow. It makes your score go down considerably. And the guve extra points for young drivers and penalize older drivers. I was an excellent driver with all kinds of badges and they only gave me 10% off total. Then told me I lose the 5% for trying it if I don’t continue using the app. It’s just away too track you and possibly penalize you saying your a bad driver and charge you more. I don’t trust this app and am removing it! I’m replying to your response. No I was promised 5% for just signing on and that I could keep the discount even if I didn’t continue with the app. Plus I was told I would get up to 40% after trying it if I did well. I did excellent close to 80% and received several badges, etc. My increase was only 5% more so it totaled only 10%. In my new bill there was an insert that said a person would get 10% for just trying the app!!! So I got nothing extra for my 6 month trial!! It’s false advertising and a scam.

Things that count as distracted driving: - putting in your distinction before driving - picking up your phone after driving - your car automatically connected to Bluetooth - someone calling you (and not picking up) - having your phone vibrate in your pocket Things considered safe driving: - running over squirrels so you don’t hard break to save their life - being tailgated for going the speed limit while traffic flows faster than the speed limit - rear ended people that pull out in front of you My phone has been in my pocket since using this app and it claims I’m constantly using my phone… without touching it. People are constantly tell gating me because I’m going the speed limit. National studies have shown that going the 5 under the flow of traffic is more dangerous than going 15 over the speed limit but hey who cares about facts. The definition of safe driving for this app literally puts you in harms way and driving properly according to national guidelines makes them fine you. I have all 5 stars and went from 90 to 78 on a single day… for distracted driving due to phone use.. while having not even touched my phone.
