How do I control sound levels for each piece individually
Hi, I love your products for our home. Since downloading your updated app I’m having trouble finding where I control each piece for each room through my iPhone and Apple Music app. Particularly the formation bar. Other pieces I can manually change but the formation bar is not the same. We have 6 rooms with equipment. Some multiple pieces. Thank you for your help.
Warning: Junk app
This app is supposed to make it easy to connect music to your Formation soundbar. However, the soundbar itself is horribly designed because it requires the app and is completely intertwined with it. The tv remote can turn the volume up and down but if the tv is turned down to zero, the soundbar is still playing sound! You must use the app to turn the master volume up and down. This has caused roughly 4 million headaches in my house - from sound playing when no one wants it to the speaker being SUPER LOUD when the tv volume shows 25%.
I hate this soundbar. It would be 75% better if they could fix the software on it so it did not require the app. That extra 25% would be to provide an HMDI input instead of solely optical. What is this, 2003? I’d return it if I could but instead I’ll be forced to sell it. The sound is no better out of this soundbar and bass combo than Bose or even Sony or JBL.
Does this app connect to play music? Maybe. But the downfalls of the soundbar are worse than you could imagine.

Hi rbell, thanks for your review and feedback, it's important to note that the Formation Sound Bar volume has no association to the TV volume, it is suggested to disable any TV volume; so as not to clash. Any displayed volume on the TV will not be indicative of what the Formation Bar is at; as they operate independently, this means that if the TV is displaying it’s at 0, you can simply continue to ramp the volume down using the TV remote control, and the speakers volume will continue to decrease. The reverse of this is also true, if the TV is displaying the volume is at max, but the sound on the Bar is too low, you can continue to increase the volume using the TV remote control. For additional support and guidance, please email our support teams on email@example.com, they'll be happy to assist, thank you, Bowers & Wilkins
A good pair for my Tidal account.
I’ve “got the ear(s)”according to my audiologist. The Formation Wedge satisfies those ears. I placed the Wedge on my desk, behind my laptop. I select the Wedge as a ‘speaker’ to send sound out from my laptop. This way anything I play on my laptop goes to the Wedge. I also use the iPhone app and play my Tidal playlists, which streams from Tidal cloud servers straight to the Wedge (I tested this by turning off my phone once I started the playlist). Midrange frequencies are rich, bass is good and the highs are present. On some tracks the bass is powerful and I naturally don’t want to blow the Wedge up but it holds it own. I listen to a wide variety of music from Progressive rock to classical to world. All good!
