Cool concept just needs some work!

This app should be on everyone’s phones. Calorie counting is completely unimportant if you’re not also making sure you’re getting your proper minerals and nutrients daily. For that reason I love to use this app to find which nutritional gaps are showing up daily so that I can supplement them. My only issue is the app can be buggy. Images don’t always work, the search function is full of processed and labeled foods but I eat a paleo diet so finding whole ingredients on the search function can be difficult. Especially if you don’t word things in the specific way the app wants. My other issue is I’m trying to switch to a vegan diet so it would be cool if the suggestions for which foods to eat could reflect foods I can actually eat. I’ve tried switching my lifestyle info in the app and my weight and birthday but I always get an error message. If they could tweak some things this app would be a knockout. Once it starts functioning better I will start suggesting it to all my friends who come to me for nutrition advice.

Crashes Often

This app has great potential. I love that it lets me see my total intake of macronutrients/micronutrients and provides suggestions for any that are lacking. However, there are some things that could make this app better. It pains me that sodium is not included in the minerals section in addition to not including unsaturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated fats. It’s a real bummer the app cannot read data from Apple Health. Additionally, it often crashes when I try to create something that is not in the database after I scan it. When I scan a barcode, which is not in the database and I select create the app goes to the next screen then crashes. This is a real pain, especially today as I was creating a recipe with several items. It took me around an hour to input it because the app kept crashing. The preset times are a real bummer too as I do not eat at the times the app inputs the data. The data should be input to Apple Health when I enter it and I should be able to adjust the time accordingly if I choose to. Every meal I eat is showing up for 12:00 am daily. Finally, the support email does not work. I clicked on “Report” then my iPhone opened my email and I wrote a message and sent it to the email address that was already filled in only to get an email that my message was undeliverable.

Vitamins and Minerals

I never thought I could see the vitamins and minerals I was getting. It's a fun experience to track with Nutritrack and it's easy to use. I'm not big into tracking but I can see the need to use Nutritrack. I am lucky enough to have found this and know I will be using it for a long time. I think that tracking vitamins and minerals is going to improve my health. I have already noticed my skin glow more and my body feels good.Nutritrack also tracks calories although I'm not as interested in calories, it's less prominent on the screen and I wouldn't like to get rid of it entirely. It's okay to be on the homepage, but I'd like to be able to hide it. There's also a ticker with fat on it but again I don't really care about that. It might be good for people on a ketogenic diet.Nice app that I'm pleased with, especially for vitamins and minerals. I think this is better than a multivitamin because you can just eat food. I'm planning on telling the people at my health foods store about it and I think they will be pleased. Lots of people buy vitamins and also buy fruits and vegetables.

Vitamins and Minerals

I never thought I could see the vitamins and minerals I was getting. It's a fun experience to track with Nutritrack and it's easy to use. I have been obsessed with this app since I started using it because it has broadened my horizon that macronutrients are such a small scale part of nutrition. I’ve since invested in a multi-vitamin and love to watch that blue bar shoot up when I track it. The only thing I wish they would fix is the search feature. I find that unless you word your search very specifically, results tend not to pop up. For example: spaghetti squash will not yield the result for basic spaghetti squash but rather name brand spaghetti squash. In order to track it, I have to go to Self nutrition and copy ‘Squash, winter, spaghetti, cooked, boiled, drained, or baked without salt.’ It’s very frustrating and time consuming. Additionally, I wish they would list the levels of each micronutrient in a serving of the foods in which it is found. I have recommended this app to so many people and hope to continue using it for a very long time, it just needs to be a little more user-friendly.
