Description

Take up the beautiful and addictive challenge of Pixel Pro Golf in single player, online multiplayer or iMessage, and global daily tournaments.

Pixel Pro Golf is a wonderfully unique arcade golf game, that combines realistic physics with zen-like gameplay and beautiful pixel-art. It can be played online, in global tournaments, over iMessage, or as a single player experience.

SINGLE PLAYER
Play through over 50 gorgeously pixelated courses, each carefully crafted with a unique style and conditions, as you try to become the best of the best.

Use the simple controls to aim, change club and swing. Then watch your ball head down stunning pixel fairways.

Play well to earn ranking points and rise up the world rankings, unlocking different tours until you reach the Majors and hit the top spot.

Finish a tournament high enough to earn winnings, that you can use to upgrade everything from your driver to putter. Alternatively, use your winnings to customise your character with some awesome clothes, from panda hats to cool new Ts.

Challenge friends over Game Center, with achievements and leaderboards for all the courses.

TOURNAMENT EVENTS
Every day offers new daily tournaments - each played on a different course - with only one attempt at each! When you are done, you can see where you rank against real-world players in the global leaderboard.

Daily tournaments are grouped into Seasons, comprising 20 daily events. Hit the top 500 in a daily tournament to earn points, which add up over the season. At the end, the player with the most points is crowned champion.

Similar to real life, Pixel Pro Golf's Major series like The Maestros or American Open are multi-day events, with scores aggregated over 4 days. Winning one of these is now the ultimate badge of honour in Pixel Pro Golf.

Tournaments are in two leagues, Open and Handicap. In Open, your basic, unedited, score is what counts. In Handicap, as it can be in real golf, your score is handicapped - with less accomplished players given extra shots, so whoever plays well within their own skill level rises to the top!

ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
Using Game Center, challenge up to 4 online opponents to a realtime game. Choose from randomly selected 3 or 9 hole courses, or select a specific course to play.

Invite friends to play via Game Center, or let the matchmaker choose some random players for you, and soon you will be testing your skills against real online opponents.

iMESSAGE
Play a turn-based match against friends, via the Messages app. Matches can have up to 4 players, and can be played hole-by-hole or shot-by-shot.

During a match, players post individual messages for each hole or shot they play. This allows friends in the chat to comment on good, or bad, shots and highlights as the match progresses.

Can you become the number one Pixel Pro Golfer?

I’m not a mobile gamer, let alone a golfer...

To restate the title of my review, let that sink in for a moment... I find most games on an iPhone to be petty, heavily micro-transactional, and aimed for dweebs, to be blunt. Trust me, my New Balance 409s aren’t too tight when I say that I totally dig this game. I can’t stress enough how lackluster golf is to me, and yet here I am, fist pumping after an Eagle on a Par 5.

After much effort, I finally unlocked The Majors on the Scottish Classic course.... it’s gusty and slopes galore on not only the fairway, but the greens are a nightmare at first glance. Put some English on it, if you want a tip. I usually play much worse on a first-visit tournament, but there I was at the end of it all, holding a -14 scorecard to win the son of a gun. I’ve got the screenshot to prove it. I have never been so dialed in on a mobile game in my life, other than RuneScape, so redact what I said about dweebs... I might be a dweeb, making such a bold claim. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this game to anyone curious about it.

My only request, is that the developers could somehow incorporate a private online party mode, maybe requiring a passcode to get in, so I could match against my friends and what have you. Just a thought, but nonetheless, killer game... BRAVO!

Game is incomplete

What’s the point in winning millions of dollars when everything costs less than $600k? Why is the American Open 100x more difficult than any other course? I went from a -22 in the Maestros on my first attempt to +10 at AO after many restarts. I don’t understand why there’s such a massive difficulty gap if there’s no club upgrades to somehow combat it. It’s legitimately impossible to birdie or even par some holes on there yet the simulated competition wins with a -8 so I can’t help but think RNG plays a role too with how good the competition is on top of the wind conditions. AO should be changed or at the very least the computer shouldn’t be able to finish with such an insane score. If you can’t get to the green on even one par 5 in 2 shots then how are you supposed to get under par at all? Every par 4 plays like a par 5 as it is. Are you only able to win if you somehow hole out every approach shot? Also if you have to choose between hitting the trees or letting the wind carry you off the fairway then you truly have no chance. I say the game is incomplete because this seems more like a first draft because of how unplayable the AO is. It also seems weird to have it in the same category as the others because it’s so wildly different in difficulty. If that’s the only course where you really need a whole new set of clubs created for just it then surely you’ve done something wrong on design.

Excellent, simplified but rich

I don’t think I’ve ever left a review before certainly not for a game. This game is absolutely excellent. Very satisfying. Familiar mechanics compared to other golf games I’ve played but with a cute and unique design. Just the right spot between challenging and relaxing. No bugs or serious lapses in design, seems thoroughly planned out (well, it can be hard to gauge tree height sometimes, but you get used to it ftmp). Not some petty cash grab or cheap app. Goes on and on with more content and gets enjoyably more challenging. I’ll be purchasing the expansion packs but want to unlock all the initial content “the hard way” first. If you don’t like any particularly obnoxious ads you can close the app and it saves where you are in whatever tour you’re on.

Awesome, great job. Hope you keep making new content or a sequel some day. So I’ll absolutely be buying the expansions to support you guys and check out your other apps. Thanks for a good quality product.
