Plex Photos is your dedicated app for viewing your personal media photo libraries, providing a seamless and intuitive way to relive your favorite moments. Whether you're at home or on the go, Plex Photos lets you access your personal photo collection with ease.
Currently Supported Features:
- Recommended View: Discover curated highlights from your photo library, bringing your best moments to the forefront.
- Timeline View: Explore your photos in a chronological format, making it easy to travel back in time and revisit memories from specific dates.
- Library View: Browse through your entire photo collection organized by folders and albums, making it simple to find and view exactly what you're looking for.
Note: This is the first Plex Photos release and will receive regular updates over the coming months. We're committed to adding new features, improving performance, and enhancing your overall experience. Ratings and Reviews
Too barebones
A little too light on the features. As far as I can tell, there’s no real reason to separate this from the main app. Nothing new is offered here. No mobile sync, no editing features standard with other photo apps, no slideshows like on other photo apps, no way to link with iCloud, Google Photos or other cloud services. I want to use Plex for photos, but it’s just too basic in its current state.
Terrible
Bare bones and less features then the main plex app. The co founder has stated they didn’t have enough resources to update the photos app in plex but apparently now they do? All the main app need is heic support for photos. Having to have 5 different plex apps for a specific task on mobile is terrible. It’s one thing to offer this app along side the main app but to remove features I paid for to get something less is dishonest and bad business practice. We waited years with plex promising to see what they had in store for us and the answer is to open up the api to get your consumers to do the work for you
Impressive beginning
I just downloaded the beta, which used my account to find the libraries held on my local server. The response was quick! I like the organization! This is a big leap from the Photos tab within the Plex app! Thank you!!!
