Doctor likes it, and can get better images from native camera by uploading from album.

Great app for tracking for my gastroenterologist. We, though, would like it if the images were slightly better. Would it be possible if the camera could just access the device’s native camera or copy more of it’s features like focusing and making the image brighter and better rendered? If not that, could we have it use images from the device’s native photo album? We take a photo on the native camera, and then the app just pulls it from the album?

Updated 4/14: Cool, thanks for letting us know how to grab from album! Understood that the camera settings are on preset so the focus is nonadjustable, but images from the album can be used. Will look forward to the improvements. And thanks! Again, the doctor appreciates this kind of record keeping

Developer Response ,

You can select from existing photos in your album (do update to latest v1.8).

The camera in app is largely the same with the native camera, but with most settings with auto presets. Probably a thing lacking is the focus area (affects exposure and metering) — we will improve in future releases.

Does the Job!

I’m going to preface this with I have absolutely no underlying need to track my bowel movements. I just do so because it helps me stay conscious about my body and my symptoms. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to tell if I was regular or not or if it hurt all the time or what.

That being said, this app does the job! You can opt to take a photo if you want and you can hide those photos so that when you are scrolling you don’t have to be looking at the lovely contents. It helps categorize shapes and speed. Depending on that, it’s either good or bad and outlined as green or red respectively. So it will help you keep track at a glance.

You also have the opportunity to take notes about that particular movement and if it’s been a few days since your last, you get a handy dandy reminder!

Love this app

I’ve been using this app for over 5 years to track my IBS symptoms. I love that I can log a BM in less than 10 seconds. Some other apps are too visually busy, or ask too many details; I find them difficult to use. Sometimes I can’t remember the last time I visited the bathroom, so this has been a helpful tool. I also appreciate the reminders, even though the content of the reminder could be a bit more discreet. My doctor is always impressed with my BM log’s organization.
