Description
Press Play and Go 2 is the new music manager for group fitness instructors. It allows playlists to be created from your music as well as (currently) nineteen Les Mills and three MOSSA programmes. We even know Beachbody if you go that far back. It recognises both the original and cover versions so you can create classes most suitable for the music licences where you teach. If you add the choreography that will also display for each track.
Add your music to your account and our secure cloud. It will download as required so you will always have the perfect songs available when teaching. We never stream so you are guaranteed to always play during class. Add your choreography and it will always be available with your music. Great for learning new releases as well as revising when mixing. Teach with confidence as the app plays with all the music and between-track pauses you have scheduled. Never run over time again.
Quickly build new playlists. Add in pauses and alerts that match your classes. Practice with features allowing you to slow down and repeat sections. Teach your class and allow the app to cue the music and let participants know when the next track will be starting. Connect with your participants using app-generated posters you can use on your social media.
Tired of having to keep adjusting the volume? All your songs in class automatically play at the same volume level. The problems of mixing the whisper-quiet old songs with the excessively-loud new ones are now gone.
There's a big new display for teaching which is easily seen across a large room. Your participants will now have no excuse as they can see exactly just how much longer they have to survive to the end of the lunge track.
View your private reports on your classes and get a general overview of what others are doing around the world. Make your cooldown song quieter so your participants can hear you talk about what they have just achieved. You will always know the music licence for each song and where it can be played. Want a quick walkthrough? Have a look at https://www.pressplayandgo.app/walkthrough/
It automatically keeps a history of when and where you played every track. Easily keep a log of all your participant attendance so you can see how things are trending. Generate a report of all your classes in a time range to help with your invoicing.
There’s loads of little features strewn throughout to make your role as an instructor easier and more fun. Want to use upper and lower-body warmups from different releases in Combat? Go ahead. Want to use tai-chi as the opening track in Balance by default? Enjoy. Want to go old-skool and run around the room at the end of track 8 in Combat? Get running.
More big improvements over the first version of the app many instructors found indispensable? All songs and choreography documents are individually matched so no more needing to add the full release. Add your choreography, create a mix, and it will generate a document containing all the choreography for the songs in your mix. We now use our own server to avoid songs turning into versions you didn't expect and had trouble playing. You can have multiple devices and your playlists and class history will sync automatically across all of them. All the class formats of a quarterly release can now be created with a tap, not just the most common one.
Create your account and you can upload 1GB of your media for free while you check out all the features.
Some things remain the same in that this app does not sell nor provide access to any music files that are not your own. All music and choreography must be purchased and supplied by the user and should only be obtained by registered instructors either directly from the relevant company or authorised distributors.
X3 Pty Ltd has no connection at all to any fitness product provider apart from participating in a lot of their classes over the last 17 years.
What’s New
Version 2024.207
Users can reset their account password if they have forgotten it.
Users can specify how much media they want to stay permanently on their devices based on a set amount or days since they last used it.
All double tracks in BODYBALANCE can now be used as individual ones when mixing.
The current time of the music playing is now visible when the choreography is displayed in practice mode. This helps so much when learning new chorey.
When playing in class and the song changes the song list now scrolls to show the currently active one.
Creating a GRIT mix now allows tracks to be selected from across the four separate streams. So go and do your best to kill your participants.
New social media images that actually look vaguely decent (sorry, but as a graphic designer I'm a reasonably decent programmer)
Ratings and Reviews
I was a fan and was hoping it would work.
The old one was great and took some work to get the entire bodypump cannon in there, but was worth it.
After uploading to the new one music you apparently need to give it a while ( days?)to show your music. Not practical, essentially unusable.
Great UI though.! Pitty one can't actually use it.
Don’t fix it if it’s not broken
Wow. I understand a learning curve and new developments, iterations and new versions to improve but this app was over-engineered to the point where nothing makes sense. The reason I loved PPG was due to its simplicity and the fact that it just pulled from the data stored on my phone. I mainly practice when I am in my car so switching, toggling, tapping 3 times and going down a rabbit hole to change one setting isn’t worth my time. I would pay triple to just go back to the OG version. I really do appreciate the dev’s time and effort but I wish there would have been customer/instructor feedback before launching a new program. The more I play/use it, the more counterintuitive this app has clearly become. Also, is there not a sliding feature to quickly get to a certain part of the song? That’s 99 percent of my usage right there 😩 #proversion1
New is not better
I’m all for upgrades, but the new app is not better than the original. It still needs a lot of work.
