I've depended on PTT, but not working in Monterey

I've really appreciated having Push Mic Control, especially after creating some Alfred scripts to make it easier to swtich between PTT and Toggle Mode. I've come to depend on it.

Unfortunately, it isn't compatible with macOS Monterey. My earbuds were auto-muting and the sound would cut out after a few seconds, resuming if I adjusted the volume, but cutting out again within seconds. I actually bought a new set of earbuds before realizing (when they had the same problem) that Push Mic Control on Monterey was the problem. Closing Push Mic Control resolved the problem.

Bummer. Thanks for making this app, José, but I guess it's time to move on...

I found a Mic Drop app that is being actively developed, so switching to that.

Update to version 2.0.0: Added Apple Silicon native support and added macOS 13 Monterrey workaround, avoiding to mute Bluetooth devices with linked output. Remember to use a different default audio input to apply mute.

Best there is, but some issues.

This app performms exactly as expected, providing me an easy keyboard shortcut to toggle on or off my microphone. Works well with Webex, Zoom, Skype, FaceTim, etc. I would like to see the ability to use customized hotkeys, instead of the combinations of modifiers that are currently available. Also, I notice that even though “Launch at Login” is checked, when I restart the computer the program does not launch (at least not viaibly). The Mic is effectively muted after login, until I launch the programa nd unmute it, so that seems like a better fail state than otherwise, though I have started a few Webexes with the program not yet running and been unable to be heard util I launched the program and unmuted myself. That is a bit confusing.

Recently with 11.4 Big Sur I have noticed that PushMic control no longer mutes my microphone

issue with keybindings

Updating my review since the developer fixed the issue with the blips every 10 seconds. Updating from 1 star (unusable) to 3 stars (controls mic properly).

The new issue I have come across is that if you alter your modifier keys in the OS X keyboard settings, those keys will no longer work with Push Mic Control. I was using right-alt for Push Mic Control, but after swapping command and alt in OS X settings for using an external keyboard, I can no longer activate Push Mic Control. It doesn't matter which button I try, none of them work.

So since I swap capslock and ctrl, and swap option and command, the only other options are Fn, which doesn't exist on an external keyboard, and the shift keys, which I press all the time. :(
