Ratings and Reviews
Best of the bunch, but…
We’ve been using this app to track my teenager’s driving for a few months now. I tend to try multiple apps to find my favorite, so I’ve tried several other student driving apps.
This app has the highest rating of the apps that have thousands of reviews. All features are available for free and removing ads was cheap. I have read many reviews and am disappointed the creators have gotten the same notes for years.
I’m not sure why it annoys people to have to click a couple buttons, but that could probably be made optional. I appreciate having those options (environment, weather, conditions) because it will give us an idea of what we need to practice in. I would even like an option to indicate the vehicle driven (I have instead edited the data to change P[arent] to the car.)
I would like to be able to edit the skills after the event has been saved.
Another missing feature is the actual time of the drive is missing from the export. I understand that it’s important to many DMVs.
Finally, the map feature has never worked for us.
So I would (and have) recommended this app over all others, but would love to see some updates.
Overall decent but Map doesn’t track
Overall decent app, but has a few things I would change. Easy to use but despite my best efforts and changing settings etc, the map doesn’t track all of the rides. It will only show some of the first rides taken which is frustrating. Some rides didn’t save either so I manually entered them. Lastly, I wish it would stay active while in use, instead my phone doesn’t sense the app is being used and falls asleep - which then stops running the time of the drive. So I actively keep it awake which is distracts away from monitoring my child’s driving.
It worked well for 1 month...
The reviews are very good and for the first month it worked well. I could see the pie with the amount of hours my daughter drove, we could add special skills, get suggestions for what she should practice and no issues with start, pause, continue, and end. The only thing that didn't work was the map, which isn't that important for us as tracking the hours.
Then it failed. For the past 2 months we can't see the total hours, the pie shows no hours driven and all the other stats show 0% completed. The map shows the drives but is missing several of them. Now I'll have to export the log to my desktop and add those hours by hand. More work than necessary just to have an idea of where my daughter stands with her hours.
Developer Response ,
So sorry about that, please see below for steps on how to fix the issue:
Check the logs tab for any irregular/weirdly formatted drive times (drive time is the first thing in the top left). If any of them are not in the format below:
Xhr Xmin (X is single or double digit)
That will cause the total drive time to break like you described.
The pi chart usually breaks around the time when a log is formatted incorrectly - so if you remember roughly when the issue first occurred then that is a great place to start.
To fix it simply press "Edit Logs" at the bottom of the logs tab, navigate to the offending log, fix the format, and hit save.
If the problem persists please contact support and mark the email as urgent.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
