Welcome to the TRAPPIST System. A monolith was recently discovered dotted with obelisks emitting holographic glyphs and binary controls. What could they mean? Enter the sequences to travel further into the unknown, and unearth a deeper mystery that may never be fully understood.

Due to the nature of this voyage, your screen has been outfitted with vacuum-tolerant pixaels, a more resilient form of pixel. This does however preclude the use of advertisements or in-visor purchases. A complimentary synthwave mix-tape has been included to mitigate space-madness.

A puzzle game highlighting concentration!

The greatest feeling when you are trying to logic out what the next shape is, but needing to also hold your position in your mind. A very elegant game!

Buying the game, I was hesitant about how much content there was. After playing it, I can vouch for it having a good amount, even if you are a master. 64 puzzles in all spanning 8 zones.

The artwork is fantastic pixel art.

Three criticisms I have are:
1) Sometimes I accidentally backed out of a puzzle when I meant to press the next shape.

2) Having the story logs as the achievement description, while elegant in a way, made it somewhat annoying since the dialogue is often cut off "..." requiring you to use the menu later to read it in full.

3) The menu in the upper left is too camouflaged. I didn't even know it existed until over halfway through. Perhaps showing players in the beginning where it is would be enough.

All in all a very satisfying game. I have not seen the blend of concentration into a puzzle game like this before. I have completed it and doing a second playthrough, which the fastforward and rewind options make easy. For the next game, I would love to see more difficulty maintaining focus on your position. I saw a glimmer of this in the glitchy zone when some pixels flickered and I lost my place. The ending monument is still a mystery 🤔 Not sure how to approach deciphering it yet.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to make the options button more prominent in the next update, and think more about your other issues.

It's fun to hear your descriptions of the mental process match the way we described it during development.

Good luck! ;)

Great game! One problem...

So, even though I saw your response to the other person who had this problem, I’m still confused about what to do, my problem is world 7, I have done almost everything, but still am just as baseless as before, I believe that this is a big jump in difficulty, and that’s why I only rate four stars(although this is such a good game I would rate it 4.5 stars) if you help me with this problem, I will change my review to 5 stars, I just really want to experience the rest of this wonderful game

Really good

Let me say that I’ve never played a game that uses this mechanic before, and it is really, a very good one. The execution is nearly perfect, the music, sound, and visuals all add to the intended effect. I can’t nail down an exact time it took me to beat it, but I bet it was somewhere around 2 hours.

The story is incredibly vague. So much so that there might as well not even be a story. I wish a little more effort went into designing something with less “open to interpretation” feel. Or maybe there was a specific story that I just didn’t pick up on. Either way, I didn’t get out of the game what the devs likely intended.

Spoilers:

I finished 64 puzzles, but it appears there was one unsolved puzzle left for me, but I can’t really imagine what I’m supposed to do to even begin solving it. With so little invested in the story, I’m okay with having beaten the original 64 puzzles and deleting the app forever. Also, achievements didn’t register for me past the first set of 8 puzzles.

For the price, this gets an 8.5/10 from me.
