If you need a quick game of Reversi, or are looking for something to teach you how to play or how to improve your skills, this program is for you!
You play against Keyano, a Reversi artificial intelligence program I wrote many years ago. Keyano was one of the top Reversi players (either human or computer) when it retired from open competition.
This version includes six different AI levels to play against (from Beginner to Diabolical), the ability to undo your moves (in case you make a mistake), and tutorials that will help you learn how to beat the easiest difficulty levels.
We have also included three brand new difficulty levels based on the latest machine learning research. CoreML-Selfplay is just starting to learn how to play all by itself with no knowledge other than what legal moves are available and what the score at the end of the game is. CoreML-SelfplayPlus is Selfplay after being taught how to play the game, by being crushed by Keyano in 1000 matches. CoreML-ExpertGames is the same AI taught with a library of 40000 expert games that I accumulated when originally writing Keyano.
Keyano can make you into a great Reversi player. Try it out today!
* Added another difficulty level, SelfPlayPlus, that illustrates the benefits of playing a pure attempt at learning the game from scratch (SelfPlay) against Keyano itself. The SelfPlayPlus level illustrates how much the AI can learn from playing against a better player.
* Updated "About Keyano" help page to indicate how the CoreML difficulty levels were created.

Great app for playing and learning
Not only is this app very good at playing Reversi (diabolical level is impossible!), it also provides a great way to better your own skills. By using hints, you can start to understand the underlying strategy. Unlike most game hints, this game shows you rankings for all moves.
I laughed, I cried, it's better than Cats!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
