Innovation in Finance
I’m very excited about the fact that Revolut is available in the U.S as beta at this time I’m writing this review. I was in the waiting list (124k + n person in queue) for about a couple of days. And then wala...I was approved.
The app has many of the features you’ll expect as an informed savvy millennial from a modern day financial institution. And they have quite a few that make you realize that the founders and developers are constantly innovating and listening. Features such as roundup change or add-on basic travel insurance for premium accounts, and virtual cards with a twist. And more... just sign up to find out. I’m impressed.
I do however have very cogent questions frankly: How do we set up a direct deposit with our employers? How is Revolt able to link up non-ACH acccounts like credit cards for roundup? This would be a very super useful feature in my opinion as a good number of us appear to use credit cards for daily transactions and then debit/checking accounts with cash flow to pay off. Depositing cash — Any innovations there? It would be nice to have these things now and I’ll be a permanent staying user and not just a beta tester.
Right now I give 100% and will continue to review based on innovation speed, responses to useful suggestions, and common sense customer service experience. For now, thank you Revolut developers and founders.
Money stolen, support as none.
Premium? No, thanks. Before anyone signs for premium... think twice and read on. I was a big fan and promoter of Revolut since the very begining, signing up many friends. After moving to another conutry i chose the premium service and black account, which worked fine till i went on a trip... leaving for 800 km long trip i took with me my revo black card to be used as primary one. I charged it as needed. Worked fine on day 1 and 2, on day 3 my balance went low and i recharged from another card... and it happened. Account got charged and locked and i was instructed to chat. Getting support took almost AN HOUR. And they could do nothing, just offered a number of excuses. Account with all money was blocked and i was left in the middle of Italy, some 400 km from home. Support was incompetent, not wishing to resolve the thing immediately, but instructing to check it in a couple of days. Now, 2 days after i am still without my funds that i placed to revolut account... waiting. If i hadn’t got a backup card ... i would stay in foreign country without any money due to “sophiaticated security system” and priority black account support. My money is practically stolen and no one cared. Shame... so unless you want to experience an immediate fund shortage... i advise to check n26, monese or any other providers, that care for customers even without charging them almost 15 euros a month for a service, that is later not preforming!
Every bank app should be like this
I am proud to be a beta tester of Revolut. The app is very well designed. Instant notifications. Really work well. Their budget tap helps you to figure out how you spend under each category. They use the technology very well with their card controls. This is the first bank I have seen to offer virtual card right from the day one. I am thrilled to see that money can added instantaneously, Also, the money can be transferred out fast. I am changing my regular bank to Revolut. I highly recommend Revolut to everyone 👍🏾
