Only a little better than mountain proj

I want to love this app. The topos are great, but so many clicks to get anywhere, idk why I have to open details when viewing a topo to add something to my to do list or mark done. Really would love a nav bar on the bottom for quickly switching between search, profile, and bookmarks, the hamburger menu all the way on the first screen takes forever to get back to. Boulder topos also take an unnecessarily large part of the screen, always have to scroll up to read problem info. There've been a few glitches where I try to mark done or view details and it says I don’t have internet when I do. I really hope you guys can work with a UX designer/researcher because there are so many things that could be optimized and would make me happy to pay the subscription. Please clean up your UX and it will absolutely be worth $40/year.

Developer Response ,

Hi and thank you for the thorough feedback! We're working hard to make our apps constantly better, also on the UX side. We also hope we can soon put the effort into the iOS app it deserves. Thank you for the understanding and keep on climbing! 🙏

Buggy can’t tap on routes

Cannot even click in the routes to see the details. App is getting worse

Developer Response ,

Hi and we're sorry to hear about your bad experience! Maybe there's a misunderstanding, but it is possible to click the route to see the details. If a route has a topo image, you can just click the route name to see the topo image. And both for routes with and without a topo image, you can click the three dots on the right to see the route details. If this doesn't answer your question, it would be great if you could email us to support(at)27crags(dot)com with some details, so we can help you and have a better look what's the issue!

Very disappointed

As an avid climber I am always for the progression on the sport and promotion of the areas. However… this app is quite useless if you don’t buy premium which is just over $8 per month. I can’t believe it is that expensive for an app that has bugs and is so simple which means that this is a bit of a rip off and upkeep costs don’t match the price. Compare this subscription to that of say F1 which is cheaper and is for a complex app where you can stream races any time. I’m not buying into this. Big big shame.

Developer Response ,

Hi and sorry to hear this! Just to explain the pricing a bit, as it might help to understand it better: The price of the app has been carefully decided, and we can honestly say that our apps and website are actually pretty complex even though they might seem simple. 😅 We would actually need much more resources to really do all the improvements we'd like to! Also it's good to understand that 50% of the subscription goes to the topos authors and hence for climbing area development, which we find very important. So when the server costs, taxes, Apple commission, topo author payments etc are deducted from the income, it's not so much what's left for the development. I hope this explains, and if you have any additional questions or points, please comment here or email us to support(at)27crags(dot)com! 🙏
