Thank you for using Roots! This update introduces a fun new way to stay off your phone—plus some big improvements across the board: 1) Pet a Dog to Unblock Apps: Yes, really. Your phone stays locked until you show some love to your pup (camera-powered, privacy-safe, and extremely wholesome). This is the first of several new “speed bumps” we’re rolling out to help you break free from mindless scrolling. You can edit an existing block or create a new one to try it out. 2) New “All Except” App Selection: We’re beginning to roll out an additional way to select apps. Due to Apple’s current limits, you can only select up to 50 apps or categories at a time. With “All Except,” you can block everything except a few key apps. This is currently available for “Block Now” and “Time of Day” blocks. 3) Other Improvements: We’ve redesigned account settings and made editing your rules simpler and more consistent.
