- AIS (Automatic Information System): if data is available on the boat's local wifi network, SARA now announces information on nearby vessels. - For complex automatic announcements such as beacons and surrounding vessels, it is now possible to configure filters (e.g. detection radius), triggers (e.g. distance variations) and announced content (e.g. distances and bearings) separately. - SARA offers a new, simpler menu for connection to the navigation system. Some minor improvements have also been made.

Update of the map data server

From now SARA knows maritime buoyage from all over the world! In 2021, the accessible and solidary app SARA Nav appeared in the Apple Store to help blind sailors to manage sailing navigation. Setting and controlling routes but also accessing the data from the ship's instruments made SARA an outstanding crew member. In 2022, SARA has improved since she is aware of the beacons from all over the world. Indeed, using Open Street Map data, blind sailors can now access the buoyage of their surroundings manually or automatically. It is also possible to define itineraries autonomously without typing any geographical coordinates, only by searching the beacons names in a list. Thus, a simple discussion with crew members allows them to quickly set itineraries before navigation. It is not necessarily required to have many tactile marine charts to be a well-informed blind sailor.
