A litany of the victims of police

Shoot first then investigate seems to be the motto of police training for dealing with black people. The stories are tragic.

The killer cops and prison guards in the situations are rarely held accountable or receive a slap on the wrist. The pattern is clear that it’s okay to kill black women and black men with impunity. White people doing the same things (90 year old women?) are not treated with such violence unless they are people with mental health problems.

The qualifications of hiring a police officer must include subtle questions to determine beliefs about black, brown and people with mental illnesses to winnow those with racist and negative judgments against people with mental illness.

Fear is a common denominator of how to deal with people who seem “different “ to the officers. Community peace officers who spend time with “these” people and really learn what the communities are like and what the communities need will reduce the fear and see people as humans just like themselves
