In this release we’ve fixed a problem with search bar text field affecting CheckSafe users on iOS 12.

In this release we’re fixing a reliability issue for push notifications affecting users of iOS 13.2.3. This affects features with background automations like Poll and Messaging, and so it is especially recommended to upgrade to the latest version of Smart24. Smart24 continues to always update with new information from your monitoring team every time you open the app.

This release brings iOS13 compatibility. Users of iOS13 will now have further options for the way in which you grant location permissions to Smart24, including “Allow only once”. We will continue to request your permission, via the app Settings, for continuous location access (“Always”), as some safety features depend on it. We have also upgraded to Zendrive version 6. Our users of Smart24 Premium will now see a request to access their Motion and Fitness data. This brings faster and more accurate trip and collision detection, and reduced battery consumption for this feature.

In this release, we’ve worked on improving the performance of the Map page. The map will now consume less mobile data overall, and will load faster after your first initial load. As always we automatically store 50MB of recently downloaded maps on your device, so they will be there for you when you need them even in offline conditions. We’ve also fixed a few bugs affecting a few new users when enrolling for the first time.

This update is all about trust: we’re bringing you a brand new app onboarding and permissions gathering experience. You’ll now see a tour of the main features of the app when you sign in. And it is now possible to defer giving location services permissions until when you need features that depend your location. We’ll continue to advise you in the app how to stay connected to your monitoring team. Our Collision Response users will now be asked permission to share their data with our partner Zendrive who power our vehicle services. And there is now a control under Settings to disable vehicle services. Finally, this version can only be downloaded onto devices using iOS10 and above.

In this update Smart24 will now automatically correct its measurement of the current time, for instance if you’ve switched off auto correct of the time and your smartphone operating system clock has drifted, or if you have purposefully modified the clock for whatever reason. This improves accuracy of all event timestamps sent to your monitoring team. We have also updated our maps which now contain more ‘places of interest’ at the local level, as well as improved place and street labelling.

This release brings further updates to the software kits we are using, this time for the mapping kit.

This update brings an important fix to a problem a few users have experienced where they have been signed out of the app unexpectedly. In smaller visual changes, the Settings area is now denoted by a ‘cog’ icon in the Side Menu. Finally, under the hood, we have also updated the app documentation and crash reporting software kits we are using.
