The app does the basics, but I also bank with another credit union that has a much more robust app that allows me greater access to manage my money. From the other banks app I can set up external transfers, the lay out seems more intuitive, the log in credentials seems to not get buggy every now and again, and there’s even advice articles that pop up on the home screen. This app is definitely useful, but I feel the potential to better help the customer is still there.
The app does what I need but every so often I get blocked out of my own account, saying there’s an error with my credentials. I can log onto my account with no problem through the website on my phone’s browser, but on the app it suddenly becomes an issue. Even when I try to reset my password, it continues to say my credentials are wrong. I’ve called out this in the past and they just told me to delete the app and redownload it but that does absolutely nothing and the problem is still present. It’s extremely frustrating, time consuming, and makes me wonder what the point is of an app if I keep getting blocked out of my own account. I shouldn’t have to go through a whole process just to view my transactions. Please just fix this issue, or at least keep users updated on whether it’s in process of being fixed. This has been a reoccurring issue I’ve been having for the past two years now. I usually just wait it out and check the app every so often until my account becomes unblocked or whatever the hell happens. Please fix this.
No VISA link
I really like the app, use it a lot and does about 90% of what I need. However, what I can’t do is access my VISA account through it. I can see the current outstanding balance, and that’s it. There is NO link to the VISA provider. I realize that is not a direct service of the CU, the account management is a 3rd party site. However, there should at LEAST have a link that could take me to that website, even if that means opening it through a browser! So, I have to go to directly a computer to check that info, because if you sign on to SMCU website through a browser on your phone, it opens in mobile mode... which doesn’t allow you to get to the VISA server...UGH!!! Drives me CRAZY!!
