This application was forced down our practice's throat by our paging service. It seems that the interface was designed by beginner programmers, and not real-world tested. Using iPhone 6 with iOS 9.2. They finally fixed the problem with the input field, but now the message list gets all compressed and truncated unless you keep re-opening the list. Honestly, how hard can it be to identify and troubleshoot the simplest of interface errors? Furthermore, the system continues to be unreliable with messages lost for hours, then inexplicably showing up much later. I try to send confirmation messages back to the service to let them know I got a message, but they don't get the confirmation message about 1/3 of the time. It's hard to run a practice in such a fashion. It's really getting bad enough that we may have to drop our paging service to get away from this application. This app developer clearly has no way of testing their own abomination of an app.

The old version of this app was fine. Naturally the company followed the old adage, if it ain’t broke, break it. There are at least 2 terrible features:1) The number featured on the app icon when looking at the phone's home screen used to equal the number of new messages you have. Now, this number will routinely say 4 or 5, when there is only 1 message. Thus, when you look at the app icon, you think there are multiple messages waiting when there is only 1. This is obviously confusing.2) The old app defaulted to an overview screen in which all of the messages were listed in a short form with a blue dot next to the unread messages. This screen has been eliminated and replaced with a truly god-awful interface that I can't even really figure out.I just emailed the company. Apparently my messaging service has had innumerable complaints. Hopefully the company will figure this out and make necessary changes.

This app is used by answering services to notify physicians of urgent overnight matters for ER or hospitalized patients. It FAILS at several points:1. It FAILS with dark mode implementation. If you have dark mode on your system, you will be unable to read any messages or settings. The only solution is to change your phone to light mode. Suggested workaround: set up a shortcut to change to light mode when the app is opened, revert to dark mode when it is closed.2. This app FAILS to notify you. It is buggy at sending notifications when a call comes in. This can occur when your watch is set up to mirror notifications. But this is not documented anywhere and can take FOREVER to identify with support. Meanwhile ER doctors and patients are waiting with no response from the doctor on call.When this app works, it is nice that it works as a secure 2-way SMS meaning you can respond to your answering service. But that is not a technical marvel. The fact it fails to do its job and notify you is a HUGE problem. Especially for something that is time-sensitive and can literally be life and death in some situtaitons.

Further below is my original review. After using this app (meaning “compelled” by the answering service and the company I work for), I am convinced this app is horrid. It is useless in Dark Mode. Prior review:The user interface is horrible. The alert tones are about 20 years old, and you cannot use your own device tones. Some tones are too quiet and others are obnoxiously loud. Very sloppy in the way it is set up to respond to an answering service message. If the initial message is not first highlighted then a reply is sent as a separate message without the answering service knowing which prior message or page it is in response to. No way to confirm a message to the service was received. Our office answering service uses this messaging app to send a “page” to the on-call provider. This app alone is reason enough to get a different answering service. This seems like a “thrown together” effort by someone who did not speak with actual users for input or feedback for development. It looks, operates, sounds, and has the interface of an App that was written a decade ago and has not been updated.
