Traffic Maps shows the state of the traffic in real time on two maps: - Each map shows and follows your position while you drive - Set the zoom in each map independently, the app will remember it the next time you use it - Set the size of the maps, you can also remove one of them and use just one - Use the button in each map to make it follow the bearing of your vehicle, or to see the map bearing north from above - Choose if the map will be shown in the direction you are moving, or if your location will be placed in the center of the map - Choose if after moving a map, it is centered in your position automatically, manually or after a time With Traffic Maps you can check if your highway exit is jammed and choose another, o change your way if there is a traffic jam ahead. The Pro version does not have ads, has a Siri shortcut and map styles. Note: this app uses your GPS, this can drain your battery quickly.

Hip Hop Review
Great App. Night mode is not as good as the day mode and when you’re scrolling the map it quickly reverts you back to your current position which is annoying, but I still truly recommend this app. Thumbs upAwesome!! I changed the settings as suggested by the developer and it’s even better now. I use this app daily. A++

There is a setting for that. Tap on the button in the shape of dented wheel. In the settings of the app you can choose the time it will use to go back to your location for each map independently. You could also choose the setting "never" to disable the timer completely, you can always tap on the button to center the map when you are using a big timer or the option to never go back to your location.

I've had this app for years. The new an updated version has a split screen. It shows a large area. There is no way to get rid of that lower screen and have just the local traffic. I find it a nuisance, unnecessary, as well as a distraction. But there was a way to get just the upper screen as it was designed previously I would enjoy it better. I want to get rid of the bottom map. Not the top. I don't care to see the big US. I want to see local, local traffic. Please advise.

There is a button to remove the top map and keep only the bottom map. You can zoom in that bottom map by pinching as in a photo, the app will remember that new zoom and keep it at that zoom every time you use the app. That way you could use it for local traffic. The zoom level for each map can be changed independently and the app remembers it.

Bury it
There are two very busy highways between my work and my home. Sometimes with the slightest fender bender, the two highways can get backed up for hours! This traffic map can give advance warning so that an alternate route can be used. Has helped so many times!

The maps keep moving around on their own

I try to follow a route I want to take and the map keeps shifting around and scrolling itself away from what I’m trying to look at. There are two half maps and they both keep jumping around with a mind of their own, even when you’re ignoring one of them. It’s just extra movement that’s gratuitously distracting. And as far as I can figure out, there’s no way to stop it from happening. If you don’t have a headache, but would like one, this app is for you.

There is a button on each map to toggle between following your course (that's what it shifts around) and between bearing north. There is also a legend in settings to explain what each button is for.The objective of the app is to have 2 maps with different zoom to be able to watch the traffic in a big area and in a smaller one. That's why by default the map with the most zoom follows your course and the other one with the least zoom bears north. You can configure each map in any way you like.
