Description

Translates text files automatically into 30 languages. Regular expressions for text selection. User friendly. Uses the best translation service DeepL.

Translate Files with Deep Learning is a program for translating text files into one or more languages. The software uses DeepL, currently the best translation service, to provide meaningful and understandable translations.

Texts can be translated automatically into up to 30 languages without user intervention. New text files can be created or existing ones updated.

In particular, software developers have a wide field of application for translating with DeepL. For example, the software can be very helpful in localizing new projects by, for example, easily translating .strings files into other languages automatically.

You will need an DeepL API key, for which you will need to create a paid or free account on DeepL.com.

Translate Files with AI supports the following languages: BG, CS, DA, DE, EL, EN, EN-GB, EN-US, ES, ET, FI, FR, HU, ID, IT, JA, KO, LT, LV, NB, NL, PL, PT, PT-BR, PT-PT, RO, RU, SK, SL, SV, TR, UK, ZH.

The program only processes text from plain text files, which must be in one of the formats UTF-8, UTF-16, UTF-32, ASCII, MacRoman, WindowsASCII, or DOSLatinUS. I recommend using UTF-8, otherwise not all characters can be represented in some languages.

The text in the files can be formatted in two different ways: as unformatted text or as text divided into sections. In the second case, section headings are not translated, but are included 1:1 in the translation. In this way, changes to sections of the original text can be updated in the translated text.

The sections of a text divided into sections are identified by section headings or keys, which can be described using regular expressions.

The format of the section headings or keys and section endings used in the original text is described using regular expressions. You can also specify which section headings should be included or ignored.

Characters and strings to be excluded from the translation can also be described by regular expressions.

The development of Translate Files with AI has only recently begun. Therefore I have a big request to all users: If you wish functions or functions do not work as you wish, write me via the contact function built into the program. This is the only way I can respond to your requests. Negative reviews here in the App Store do nothing due to lack of communication and only lead to us developers giving up on further development in frustration.

What’s New

Version 1.18

- Fixed a problem that occurred when loading settings sets if the locations of the files and folders to be edited were also saved in the set.
- Problems with the translation into Japanese, Korean and Chinese have been fixed.
- The size of the program window and thus also the size of the text input fields can now be changed.

- Interesting use cases and examples I will publish in my blog https://translate.tomsidee.de in the future. Please check back regularly!

This program is under constant development. Therefore, I would appreciate if users write to me via the contact function in the application if they would like to see new features or have suggestions for changes. Please also write me if something does not work. This is the only way I can respond to your wishes. Negative reviews here in the App Store bring nothing due to lack of communication and only lead us developers to give up further development in frustration.

Stan the monk ,

Translate with DeepL

I recently purchased the application: Translate with DeepL from the Apple Store. I had been using DeepL for over three years and find it indeed to be the best translation app around. But Translate with DeepL, created by Thomas Osthege, is a simple, quick and highly efficient way to us DeepL. I am overjoyed with this application and highly recommend it for translating texts from one language to any of the 19 or so languages available. I have always actually liked the fact that there are so few languages, as it shows DeepL’s commitment to quality of translation over quantity of languages. Gradually they will be adding more languages. An added benefit of the purchase of this app is that Thomas Osthege is available to give you help in using it. He spent several emails to aid me in learning how to use the app most efficiently and effectively. It is not just an app that you purchase and are left on your own to learn how to use it. I use this app almost daily in my work as an English-speaking priest to a Spanish congregation, and in the three classes I teach on theological and spiritual topics.
