pretty slick and simple video capture, store, and share
Vidline is a simple way to capture video, screencast, and audio content. They save everyting into a cloud account. From there it's easy to download and share.
I was looking for a way to use a virtual backround with my screencasts and to capture presentations -- I can't always greenscreen. Other offerings wouldn't "connect" to a camera filter that allows virtual backgrounds using my MacBook native camera. (I chose XSplit VCam after some research.) Vidline immediately allowed me to connect to any software based camera apps, choose VCam, and record. It was the only one I found that did that.
The main interface is a MacOS app that shows up in the top navigation bar. You just choose how you want to record and get started. It handles video storage in the background, and allows some basic functionality but makes it easy to share and download.
It seems to have a "workspace" feature which would make it competitive with Loom and Claap. Neither Loom or Claap connected with the VCam virtual camera software that allowed me to use a virtual background. Loom insists on blurring the background, and there's no setting to change it. For my casts I like a clear background with the company logo.
To summarize: easy to use app for recording that connects to camera filter apps, basic but easy to use storage with share and an workspace functionality. Happy thus far, and I thank them.
Great program
Works well, once you get used to how to work with it. Very easy to make a quick video and trim it to size. Not a lot of complex editing tools, but that's not what I got it for.
