Description

Semi-transparent background calendar right on desktop wallpaper. Agendas/events/reminders at a glance. Real-time update. Customizable.

WallCal is a desktop calendar that always stays on the desktop wallpaper. A keystroke or mouse click can bring it to the frontmost, and with another keystroke or click it will return to the background. Instantly see and recall what your calendar/agenda/todo-list currently be as soon as you go back to the desktop wallpaper!

These features below are available free of charge:

・An always-on desktop background calendar displaying all events/reminders of the current month on your desktop. Since it displays your current macOS/iCloud calendars, you don't have to create anything new, just continue using your existing macOS/iCloud calendars as you always do.

・Bring the calendar to frontmost state on demand by a keystroke/mouse click, and another keystroke/mouse click to bring it back to the desktop background.

With the Expert calendar add-on, these features below will be available for use:

・You can choose to display the weekly agenda view which shows all the calendar events in the next 7 days on a 24-hour timeline, instead of displaying the whole month. You can also specify the number of days displayed, as well as the visible time range for the weekly agenda view.

・Resize/reposition by dragging & dropping the calendar view while it’s in the frontmost state

・You can choose to display only the calendar event view, the reminder & to-do list view, or both.

・You can choose which calendar event sets or reminder sets to be displayed. By default, all calendar event/reminder sets will be displayed.

・You can customize your calendar background-color

DISCLAIMER: This app doesn't provide any means to add new events/reminders, nor does it provide any way to edit existing events/reminders. Please use Apple's stock Calendar/Reminder app, or any other 3rd party apps that support adding/editing events/reminders to manipulate calendar events and reminders.

Really good!

I used to use blotter but this is a great substitute! I do have a couple requests that would make it 5 stars for me
1) I wish that there was a weekly view - this is the biggest one for me
2) There seems to be some extra room on the bottom of every square, I wish that there was an option for that to be used for more info because I can't fit everything otherwise, although a weekly view would fix this for me
3) I know this one is unreasonable but it would be great if wallcal could intergrate with todoist, it's an amazing todo list app that I use but I understand that would be difficult and also maybe not broadly useful

Thank you Elly for choosing WallCal! 🙌 We're glad you found this app useful 🥳 about the weekly view, we're already working on it! ETA is still unknown at the moment, but we'll try our best to deliver the feature to you ASAP! 💪 About 3rd party to-do list integrations, since different services have their own different way of access control, currently we still can't answer whether implementing integration is possible or not, but we'll look into it and hopefully be able to provide a possible workaround in the worst case 🙏 Once again, thank you very much for choosing WallCal, we look forward to your continuing support in the future! 🥰

Great Start

I purchased this within minutes of first opening your app. It is fantastic tool that I use every time I'm on my Mac (which is a lot). There were a few things that I would love to see in a future release.

The option to put the date inside of the square in the big calendar (right panel). This will help identify events more easily at a glance.

An option to control the transparency of the color of All-Day events in the right panel

This one is wishful thinking: Option to vertically display Last Month, This Month, Next Month, and The Month after Next in the left panel with the ability to fade the mini-Months out of view and bring the To-do-list into view via a shortcut key combo. Tripple click on the one of the mini-Months in the left panel would make the big calendar in the right panel reflect the mini-Month that was clicked.

Thank you very much for purchasing WallCal! 🥳 we've received other suggestions about tweaking color and transparency option of events too, and we'll work on it in the subsequent updates! We plan to add more shortcuts and actions for our users to navigate more easily too. If you have further suggestions, we always listen, so please don't hesitate to mail us at tsukie.studio@gmail.com any time!

Good Blotter replacement

I used the Blotter app for years, but it hasn't kept up with the newest macOS versions. I tried WallCal as a replacement and purchased it the first day. There were a couple quirks and some things I couldn't figure out, but the developers got back super quick with a couple fixes and explanations on how to do what I wanted. I can only see this app getting better over time...(so I left room for an extra star!)

Developer Response ,

Thank you very much for purchasing WallCal! 🙌 and thanks for the warm and kind words 🙏 WallCal will continue to have more functions/customizations as well as improvements in the future, and we're still working on them every day, so please stay tuned! 🥰
