Bug fixes and stability improvements for Communities and Events
Ratings and Reviews
Very bare bones in terms of usage atm. While it is useful for sending out your champions on missions the missions themselves offer none of the quality rewards they used to. For instance in legion I would use this app to send out my champions to gather large sums of gold which was worth it at the time. Now the gold gain is 1/20th of the value. Mission variety has also dropped as the mission board seems to be relegated to either get reputation with this expansions newest factions or to get Azerite power (same as artifact power in previous expansion). Champion equipment is almost nonexistent at this point as getting any require absurd amounts of grinding for such minimal rewards gained through the missions themselves.
This apps only positive that I can really give it is that I can use it to see which quests are up in the world and the newest faction we need to grind for is up. However the faction bar in the app needs fixed cause it only shows the last 2 that you have not completed currently.
Beyond that it is very underwhelming to use. The legion app was much better in almost every way. I used it almost everyday when rewards were good. Now I see myself only using it maybe once a week if that. Would not recommend to anyone at it current form.
Essentially Useful Yet Issues Remain
After finding out this app, a lot of time has been saved and I can send missions for my champs on the go. Undoubtedly helpful. However, several programming issues I’ll mention. First off, there isn’t an option for using the 18 hour cool-down order hall talent to instantly complete a quest, only for ordering it. Next, switching between chars is a huge pain, having to return to character list and wait for it to connect, char after char.... A character drop down for all, not just some, characters should be available or there should be a back button with minimal to no load time. Next, I noticed that if my character is in an invasion point or in between ‘worlds’, I am immediately disconnected from the server when I try to access him from the app. Lastly, if we are already logged in on our computer, we cannot gain access on the app from our phone. This app should allow for us to force log out of our computer from our mobile device. This is a feature that even most basic programs have. While everything I’ve said will probably not be fixed or changed, especially with the new xpac coming soon, I irregardless share my ubiquitously-shared criticism in the infinitesimal hope that whoever programs this app have some basic integrity.
Useful but it could be so much more
This app does what it does: allows you to upgrade your character’s reputation and resources while not playing the game. Is it fun? No. It does allow you to level faster when you do play the game so it prepares you in that respect but it could do so much more.
Warcraft is a constantly learning environment. Each item or location can have significant value but it may not be understood right away. There are websites, like wowhead, that contain pages upon pages of information. Researching your strategy becomes a big part of playing the game as you level up.
This app works but it would have been perfect for just that purpose: research and learning, but it does none of that. It doesn’t show your inventory or your professions and skills or any way to find what quests, raids or dungeons you have. Being able to research something with the app would be like playing the game in a way in that you would be able to create some goals for the next time you play.
I wish they would incorporate that or come out with another app that does. (Hello WoWHead, are you listening?) Until it does, it’s more of a maintenance chore than an engaging game tool.
