WGDT 4+

The Wadhwani Center for Government Digital Transformation (WGDT) has been set up by the Wadhwani Foundation in response to our Hon. Prime Minister’s vision of mainstreaming emerging technologies in government operations across India in April of 2021. WGDT works and supports the Government of India (GoI) and has an MoU with the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India (GoI) and the Capacity Building Commission through its dual mission:

Think Tank Mission - not just a 'think- tank' but an 'act-tank'

Technology Academy Mission - To provide executive courses to senior policymakers, bureaucrats, and other government officials, in essential technology trends and in the application of relevant technologies to their respective ministries and missions.

Technological advances have always been key agents of change in how we work, interact and live. There is an unprecedented pace of technological innovation in all fields from computing and artificial intelligence to drones and virtual reality. Public Policy for any country is a complex task, and the complexity increases further if the country is as large, populous and diverse as India. Emerging Technologies provide an avenue for better decision-making and can help improve the policy-making process. In our view, these technologies supplement the experience and expertise of policymakers and aid their decision-making. As a result, we view AI not as Artificial Intelligence but as Augmented Intelligence, with “you” as the core!
Keeping this in mind we offer courses on Emerging Technologies. These courses aims at building awareness of emerging technologies among government officials enabling them to make informed data-driven decisions thereby impacting lives for the social good.

WGDT, contributes by creating learning journeys in Emerging Technologies in general and in Data Analytics and Data Driven Decision-Making. The target audience are officers, across the board, ministries and government institutions. It equips them to use such emerging technologies to take better decisions, create new applications and measure impact of policies.
