The free “Airfoil Satellite” provides all the functionality of Airfoil Speakers Touch and much more, including remote control of Airfoil and supported sources.

Airfoil Speakers Touch has been deprecated, and is intended only for devices running iOS 6, iOS 5, or iOS 4.

* The ability to receive audio from iTunes and iOS is now fully removed. Those who added this functionality back in 2012 via the “Enhanced Audio Receiving” in-app purchase may wish to avoid this update.

* Several minor bug fixes and improvements are also included, as well as support for 4" screens.

Ausbaufähig

Ich verwende Airfoil nun schon seit geraumer Zeit um Audio an meine Airport Express Station zu streamen. Da wo Apples Remote mit Airtunes an ihre Grenzen stößt, fängt Airfoil an. Umsomehr habe ich mich gefreut als ich erfahren habe, dass Airfoil für das iPhone heraus kommen wird. Das App an sich funktioniert (mit kurzen Aussetzern) einwandfrei. Was allerdings ärgerlich ist, dass jegliche Kontrolle über iTunes nicht vorhanden ist. Will man ein anderes Lied auswählen, muss man dies entweder direkt am Mac machen, oder man verlässt das App, geht in Remote, und zurück in Airfoil Touch. Um es mild auszudrücken: das ist umständlich und mühsam. Damit ich also meine Musik Mediathek auch bei der Gartenarbeit hören kann, und gegebenenfalls auch einen Track überspringen will, muss unbedingt noch eine Form von iTunes Controller eingebaut werden. Sonst habe ich das Gefühl ich fahre in einem Auto ohne Bremsen.

iPhone 5 Support

Tolle App, allerdings würde ich mich über eine iPhone 5 Unterstützung freuen.

Eigentlich eine gute Idee...

Habe mir das kostenpflichtige Update gekauft um von iTunes die Musik direkt aufs iPhone zu senden. Doch leider funktioniert das immer nur so 7 Songs lang. Danach bricht die Verbindung ab.

Da ich Geld dafür bezahlt habe, erwarte ich eine sofortige Verbesserung.
