Streamlined UI and advance functionalities

The minimalistic UI would suggest the usual standard functionalities, but this calculator is indeed quite advanced. A few highlights: no ads in free app (would never use it otherwise); proper display for calculations, makes it easy to see and edit the whole formula, parentheses included; seamlessly switches automatically between calculation view and graph view in the same context; uncluttered UI has absolutely everything you need without presenting a million tiny buttons like other apps do. I am an engineer and use this on a daily basis. A widget would be great, perhaps one that allows a quick calculation or at least always shows the last one.

Abo Bezahlmodell

Wie bei vielen anderen Taschenrechnern zahlt man ein Abo. Fordern Konsumenten eine Frechheit. Einmalzahlung für eine gute App gerne, aber wer zahlt für einen Taschenrechner zb 50 Euro? In diesem Fall auf 10 Jahre. Dafür bekommt man am PC eine ganze Bildbearbeitungsprogramm. Das Argument der Produktentwicklung zieht auch nicht, denn 10 mal 10 ist immer 100.
Die Taschenrechnerproblematik am IPad ist evident und sehr kundenfeindlich.

Instead you pay approximately one coffee per year for this. If you use Kalkyl’s Pro features for 10 years - it will be worth it, if you use it for only 1 year then it’s even cheaper.

Subscriptions scale with value. It also enables developers to sustain development for years instead of realizing that every user has already paid, and they are forced to take a full-time job and stop development and remove the app. It’s so common. Is that what you want?

It’s not like the “calculator business” is the new social media or that there’s a lot of money there. I’ve lost money on Kalkyl. Translations, design and server costs doesn’t add up to what I get for it. Not to mention the countless hours I’ve put in, time I could get paid well for.

But sure, give this FREE app one star just because you want the Pro features and can’t justify to pay a few euros per year for that.

Grandios

Schlicht, einfach, aufgeräumt und dennoch ein Profitool. Die Oberfläche ist sehr ansprechend und minimalistisch gestaltet. Der Rechner ist einfach und komfortabel zu bedienen. Als Ingenieur, finde ich, hat er aber alles was man braucht. Nur eine Kleinigkeit fehlt mir...das wäre der Verlauf der Rechnungen.
